A pigmented slurry obtained by dispersing a surfactant with water as a medium is called an aqueous color paste. Due to the wide variety of paints, there are many types of color pastes. In order to better disperse the pigment and the like in the paint, a small amount of a surfactant, a zinc naphthenate or the like is often added during the manufacturing process. In recent years, aqueous colorants have been widely used.

The structural properties of water-based color paste mainly include the following two aspects:

1. One of the structural properties of color paste "light resistance, weather resistance"

The test of light and weather resistance of color paste is through outdoor exposure (such as Florida in the United States and Tulufan in China), but the actual outdoor exposure time is too long. Now most of the performance test of color paste is simulated by instruments and equipment. test.

Lightfastness: Use 1/2ISD and 1/25ISD standard color samples for outdoor exposure using outdoor acrylic latex paint. Exposure to xenon light source (1000W) for 72 hours, using 1-8 grade blue wool ruler and standard color sample to expose at the same time, get the color difference to grade, grade 1 is the worst, grade 8 is the best, (has passed the color measurement software evaluation )

Weatherability: Use acrylonitrile latex paint to make 1/3ISD and 1/25ISD standard color samples for exposure. After exposure to the ATLAS artificial aging apparatus for 500 hours, the ISD gray card was used for color difference evaluation, the first level was the worst, and the fifth level was the best. (has been assessed by color measurement software)

2, the structural properties of the color paste - "chemical resistance"

The chemical resistance of aqueous colorants is mainly acid and alkali resistance, that is, chemical migration resistance. This property is essentially dependent on the pigment itself, which must be taken into account in outdoor colorants. Generally, water-based paints are also required to be resistant to acids and alkalis, and are not required to be resistant to organic solvents and other chemicals.
