In the case of a label printing job, four-color printing is carried out with 90g/m2 coated paper. The picture is a close-up photo of a green leaf, and is also equipped with a large red text, in which the strokes of several lines of text are extremely thin.
It is planned to use monochrome machine to print. According to the conventional process, the color sequence of printing is generally Y, M, C, and K. The text from the original is superimposed with Y and M. The monochrome machine usually prints Y and M colors first. Due to the rainy season, it is very humid, the paper is very swollen, and the strokes are too thin, and the overprint is difficult to guarantee. If you put the Y and M colors in the back color sequence, it will also affect the overprint. After careful study of the manuscript and the film, it was found that there were few M-page dots in the picture part, but there were a few dots in the dark-dark four-color overprint, so I decided to make the following changes:
First, the PS version is normally dried. After that, the dots in the M version of the picture are repaired with the repairing solution, only the text part is retained, and the Y version of the text is partially repaired. Others remain, and the C and K versions remain unchanged. The M version is printed first when printing, but it is printed with gold-red ink, and then printed in the color order of Y, C, and K.
The advantage of this is: firstly, the red text does not have the overprint problem, and it is printed with gold and red ink once, which is brighter than the red color printed with Y and M, and there is no color shift phenomenon; secondly, the paper is embossed red again. The water content and the like are basically stable, so the three-color overprinting of Y, C and K is more accurate.
The finished product printed by this method, the hue and saturation are in line with the requirements. Although the M version of the dot is removed at the darkest point, the hue is almost unaffected.
