How to master the "ink and ink balance" is a difficult point in the offset printing process.
If the moisture is too small, the blank portion will be dirty, and if the amount of water is too large, the printing quality will be affected.
The hazards of water are as follows:
(1) hinder the normal transmission of the ink, forming a false impression;
(2) The color of the product is uneven, especially before and after the interruption of printing;
(3) Increasing the deformation of the paper causes the graphic overprinting to be inaccurate;
(4) Excessive water absorption of the paper causes curling and uneven delivery;
(5) Wetting the roller pad or rusting the roller housing;
(6) Because the ink color is diluted, the picture is dry, the outline is unclear, and the color is old;
(7) The ink coloring power is reduced, and sometimes the amount of ink has to be increased, so that the dots become paste, and the level is unclear, resulting in large water and large ink;
(8) The color change of the imprint is large, which causes color error compared with the signature;
(9) The gloss of the print is lowered, and the drying speed is slow;
(10) Accelerate the deinking of the ink roller, and if the ink becomes large, the surface will be dirty and the back of the printed sheet will be dirty.
Therefore, under normal circumstances, the ink and water balance should maintain the minimum amount of water, but it cannot be mechanically specified. The amount of water used depends on the speed of the machine, the area of the layout, the nature of the paper, and the thickness of the imprinted ink layer.
The water consumption of the control panel should be based on the premise that the layout is not dirty. Whether the water content of the layout can be correctly identified is a necessary condition for controlling the water consumption. Now, identifying the amount of water is usually estimated empirically and needs to be explored repeatedly.
Here are some signs of excessive moisture:
(1) The rolling "point" of the lower ink roller and the water transfer roller accumulates water droplets;
(2) The ink is lightly printed, and it is not easy to make the ink color deeper in time after adding ink;
(3) The amount of ink on the surface of the ink roller is large, but the ink color of the ink is not deep;
(4) Before and after the printing interruption, the ink color has a large gap;
(5) The printed sheet is soft and weak compared with the original paper;
(6) The paper edge is curled downwards, and the paper is not aligned;
(7) The edge of the printed sheet opening and the large blank area, a wave-shaped emptiness phenomenon occurs;
(8) The blanket cylinder and the plate cylinder liner are wetted by moisture;
(9) Other phenomena of “big water and big ink”.
Through daily observation and analysis, it is possible to detect and control various over-use phenomena in time to ensure the quality of printed products.
