As mentioned above, printing on the surface of the package will inevitably wipe off and stain the print to cause the print to fall off. The use of laser printing can make the text clear, the operation cost is cheap, and the management is easy. Therefore, every effort has been made to apply to flexible packaging. After research, it is concluded that the laminated packaging material is coated with a color developing layer, and when the surface of the film is irradiated with laser light, printing is initiated.


At the beginning of development, attention was paid to a developer having high inductivity in a specific laser wavelength region. After repeated experiments and further printing with a laser different from the carbon dioxide laser wavelength, since the surface film does not absorb the laser light, it is not damaged, and the ink layer of the package can be directly printed. This technique is obtained. After affirmation, the developer was dispersed as a patent for the production of inks to produce a new laser printing agent.


This printing agent is a toluene-free oily coating agent having a pale yellowish hue and can be treated in the same manner as a conventional composite intaglio ink. At the same time as printing on the packaging substrate, a special printing plate of a suitable laser printing range is used, and a gravure is used to print from the back. The composite film is applied to the ink surface after printing. This process is exactly the same as general flexographic printing.


Applicable films are suitable for OPP, PET, and all nylons used in normal packaging. For composite, dry composite, and compression compounding.


In order to achieve clear printing, the concentration of the above special laser developer and the thickness of the developer are important. Therefore, it is recommended that the dilution ratio of the printing agent at the time of printing be 50% or less, the depth of the plate should be 30 μm or more, and the thickness of the dried coating film should be 1 μm or more.


As a color development mechanism, as shown in the figure below, the developer is dispersed in a cool dry coating film. Once the pigment is irradiated with laser light, it becomes black. At the same time, according to its own heat, the resin around the pigment is rendered. Carbonization is black. According to this effect, the printed text is fixed. The biggest feature is that the laser irradiation is performed from the film on the surface, and the color developing layer is inside the laminate below the film. According to this method and composition, the color developing layer is completely protected by the film, and the surface of the packaging is never rubbed or contaminated with solvent and grease, and it cannot be erased and rewritten.

As a laser for printing, a YVO with a clear radiation system is recommended. The carbon dioxide laser is easy to damage the film, while the YVO4 can print fine text.


In addition, products requiring cool conditions include frozen foods, which are packaged in hard-boiled foods, which may be rubbed in the middle of transportation to make the tasting period and the manufacturer's mark unclear. Since the tasting period is generally long, the protection must not easily disappear, and the use of the above new printing agent to print is the most advantageous way.


It is not limited to food. When the pharmaceutical product is packaged in a clean room, the date and product number are printed. When using the above new printing agent, it is most suitable. This not only does not cause carbonization gas and cutting slag, but does not cause splashing of ink components like inkjet. From these advantages, it is the cleanest printing method. When applied to cartons and paper containers, apply this printing agent on the paper first, then use the composite film. 


Considering that the package requires a small amount of printed text, and trying to make such a small text hidden in the commodity as a hidden text, it is also effective as a means of anti-counterfeiting and security.


In addition, the printing function that does not disappear and cannot be rewritten in the product is expected to be extended not only to the use of packaging but also to the general industrial use of electronics and automobiles, and is expected to be more widely used.


Note: The YVO4 series is abbreviated to Yttrium (钇) and vanadate (vanadate), and the chemical name of YVO4 is tetraoxantane.
