However, limited by the price, everyone will also have a situation where pop-up books cannot be obtained and yearned for.
Q: As a very important part of pop-up books: is paper artist still in a relatively scarce state in China?
A: Paper artists are indeed scarce, and this needs to be solved through unremitting promotion activities, such as handicraft workshops, such as inviting more illustrators to participate in pop-up book creation. It's just a dream. But it is also necessary to pay attention to the tendency not to one-sidedly emphasize the importance of three-dimensional craft production in the actual promotion, because pop-up books are works of art, only emphasizing the process, will reduce the participation of illustrators, and books without aesthetics will not go far. In fact, the main gap between domestic and foreign pop-up books is not reflected in the process, but in the overall book design effect, the overall three-dimensional technology and the combination of graphics and text. In a word, there is a lack of overall pop-up book design, and this role is not a single role for paper artists or book designers, but often the result of a team's efforts.
Q: I heard you're about to publish a new pop-up book?
A: Yes, as a text author, I have collaborated with illustrators and paper artists on a book "Fuzhi Gongwangfu", which combines three-dimensional paper art, classical gardens, and traditional Fu culture, which will be launched in the first half of next year. At the same time, as an editor, I will gather more paper artists to try more and more effective promotion activities.
Q: What is your vision for pop-up books?
A: I look forward to more good original pop-up books, but I can start with small and beautiful three-dimensional cards and three-dimensional cultural creativity.
