At present, color printing is usually carried out by using four colors of yellow, magenta, cyan, and black and overprinting in a certain order. In theory, four-color printing can have twenty-four different printing color sequences. The use of yellow, magenta, cyan, and black four-color versions should achieve satisfactory results regardless of the printing color sequence. But in fact, the printing color sequence is different, and the color rendering effect of the printed matter is different. Reasonable printing color sequence will make the picture color closer to the original, and even enhance the atmosphere of a certain color, adjust the level of the picture, make the outline clear, the level is clear or the tone is soft. In addition, it can also protect the paper surface, increase product gloss, and facilitate overprinting. Therefore, in color printing, especially in packaging printing, more than four colors or spot colors, and full version, more attention should be paid to the arrangement of the printing color sequence.

In flexographic printing, the plates of the various colors are often in the field, and the water-based inks used are generally not very transparent. Therefore, when arranging the printing order of each color plate, it must be considered whether the color after the nesting can meet the original requirements and achieve a good overprinting effect. It is directly related to the quality of printed products. The printing color sequence is mainly performed in the order selected by the original design and the plate making. However, according to product characteristics and process requirements, there are often changes.

The color sequence in general flexographic screen printing is determined by the following conditions.

1. The first print with strong ink hiding power. Generally, the light ink is printed first, and the dark ink is printed first;

2. When there are many overprinting colors, when the dark outline is not used as the overprinting rule, the dark outline should be printed first;

3. The edge of the outline of the image needs to be pressed with the darkest cover to eliminate the burrs of the outline, which must be overprinted. But sometimes this dark color is the color rule of each color. At this time, a part of the dark color can be printed first as the specification of each color plate, and finally the dark outline is overprinted;

4. The main color of the picture pattern is generally arranged at the last overprint;

5. For the same color of both the existing outlets and the full version of the site, in order to meet the requirements of the outlets not to paste the paste and the full version of the site, the screen version and the full version of the site should be printed separately. This allows the printing pressure to be adjusted individually, using different inks to ensure print quality.

In the case of three-color printing, the general color sequence is: cyan-magenta-yellow. The field density is controlled at Qing 1.6, Magenta 1.4, and about 1.2.

Let's talk about a very important application area of flexographic printing - the printing color sequence of plastic flexible packaging color printing:

Plastic flexible packaging printing, generally with white ink to lay the background color, to set off other colors. The advantages are as follows: First, the plastic white ink has the best affinity with the polyolefin film (PE, PP), and the adhesion fastness is the best;

Second, white is total reflection, which makes the color of the printed product more vivid. Thirdly, the printing ink layer is thickened to make the printing layer richer and more three-dimensional.

Flexible printing plastic flexible packaging is divided into "printing" and "printing". “Li Yin” refers to a special printing method that uses the printing plate with the reverse printing image to transfer the ink to the inner side of the transparent film (reverse image), thus representing the positive image on the front side of the film.

The color sequence of “printing” and “printing” is exactly the opposite. For example, the print is usually printed first, while the print is the final print. The "printing" color printing color sequence is generally: white-yellow-magenta-cyan-black. The color printing color sequence of "Liyin" is generally: black-green-magenta-yellow-white.

Compared with the "printed" printed matter, the "Liyin" printed matter has the characteristics of bright and beautiful, bright color, no fading, moisture-proof and wear-resistant, strong and durable, long shelf life, no adhesion, no cracking. Since the ink is printed on the inside of the film (between the two films sandwiched by the composite ink layer), it does not contaminate the packaged articles and meets the requirements of the commodity hygiene law.

The flexographic printing machine is a multi-color printing machine. The overprinting of the ink is carried out by wet-stacking, at least 6 colors, generally 10 colors, up to 12 colors, and can be ultraviolet and infrared glazing. The printed products are mainly decorative prints, with text, images, nets and fields, and some also require gold, silver and glazing. Therefore, the color sequence of flexographic printing is very flexible. When deciding on the printing color sequence, one factor cannot be considered in isolation, and the specific requirements of the printed matter should be analyzed to obtain the best printing color sequence. For example, you can print the screen version first, then print the ground, then print the gold, and finally glaze. Some prints have a darker ink color and are limited by the amount of ink transferred by the anilox roller. When the thickness of the ink layer is not required, the color can be reprinted once by another printing unit. The color sequence of the four-color screen cannot be exchanged at will. For the spot color printing, the order of light and dark is generally adopted, and the light ink is printed first, which can make the dark ink color bright after being overprinted. For spot colors printed by the overlay method, the color sequence of the primary and secondary colors is the primary color and the primary color is printed.
