First, the status quo of digital printing in China
With the rapid development of textile printing and dyeing in China, China has become an important processing center of the world textile industry. According to statistics, in 2001, the amount of digital printing in China for the whole year was 17.8 million square meters. In 2002, it rose to 21.2 million square meters. In 2003, it increased to 25.8 million square meters. In 2004, it reached 30.2 million square meters, a growth rate of 17% compared with the previous year. It is predicted that by 2010, the output will reach 50 million square meters, with an annual growth rate of about 10%.
As we all know, the export dependence of China's printing and dyeing industry is very high. About 10 million square meters were exported to foreign countries in 2004, which is nearly one-third of the total output in 2004. Export products have very high quality requirements for printing and dyeing products. Therefore, we believe that digital printing will become the mainstream direction for the future development of China's printing and dyeing industry.
China's digital printing industry has several characteristics that are similar to the global printing and dyeing industry. In the past few years, the main features of the Chinese textile digital printing industry performance are:
1. In recent years, colors and patterns have increased greatly. The first generation of digital printing machines has only six colors, c, m, y, k, lc, lm. However, there are only 8 colors, c, m, y, k, lc, lm, blue, yellow. The increase in the number of colors makes the pattern more vivid. With the accumulation of experience, domestic designers have formed their own unique design style.
2. The frequency of flower pattern update is accelerated. Traditionally, a flower pattern must be printed at least 10,000 meters. The amount of digital printing may be less than 100 meters, and there are about 100 patterns per year.
3. The production per batch is reduced. As I mentioned earlier, the volume produced in batches will be less than 100 meters. If it is proofing, it may be only one meter.
4. The requirements for environmental protection are getting higher and higher. This is mainly reflected in the application of special environmentally friendly inks.
Next, let's talk about printing equipment and ink. The current mainstream digital printing equipment in the Chinese market generally uses Japanese-made micro-voltage nozzles, 8 colors, 360 holes per color. The print width is 1600mm or 2200mm. The mainstream machine has a printing speed of 12 square meters per hour with an accuracy of 720×720 and 4pass.
In terms of ink, our current 70% ink is active, mainly used for silk and cotton. 25% is a dispersion ink for chemical fiber fabrics. Among them, 95% of the dispersed ink is used for transfer, and the rest is used for direct printing. It is about 3% acidic and is used in wool, nylon and the like. The amount of paint used in China is relatively small, less than 2%.
Second, digital printing in several major market segments in China
About 90% of digital printing machines in China are produced by Honghua, 7% are mimaki and 3% are other brands. The main market segments are: proofing, small batch production and other niche markets.
Digital printing saves a lot of time and cost compared to traditional printing. Therefore, quite a number of traditional printing and dyeing factories purchase digital printing machines for proofing. In addition, design companies and some institutions purchase machines for designing patterns and teaching. So far, nine colleges including Tsinghua University and China Academy of Art have purchased equipment from Honghua for teaching and research.
Most of the orders for mass production come from Spain, Italy, France, the United States, Japan, South Korea, etc., accounting for 60~70% of the total, such as Spain's desigual, American steelasteelo and so on. The annual processing capacity is approximately 1,200,000 square meters, of which the t-shirt is approximately 800,000 square meters, the silk products are approximately 200,000 to 300,000 square meters, and the sweaters are approximately 100,000 square meters. At present, the processing price of batches is 50~80/m2.
The basic market in China is mainly for colleges and universities, and the design agencies are used for crafts and antiques.
From the current point of view, China's digital printing market segment is 65% for proofing, 25% for mass production, and 10% for niche markets.
Third. Honghua's achievements in digital printing
1. Honghua Company is currently developing a high-speed printer that uses Japanese micro-voltage nozzles with 512 holes of 8 colors per color. 600*600dpi, 4pass mode, high speed can reach 35 square meters / hr, normal speed 23 square meters / hr. Its second generation will be 8 colors, 1024 holes per color. The normal speed is 46 square meters / hr and the high speed is 70 square meters / hr.
2, ink compatibility issues
As we all know, our digital printing equipment manufacturers seek high quality printing results and long service life. Honghua has conducted thousands of tests on the compatibility of ink and nozzles. We communicated with ink and nozzle manufacturers many times, accumulated some experience and found an adaptation plan. The life of the nozzle is up to 6 months under steady working conditions.
3. Traditional pre- and post-processing equipment is suitable for mass production. This is too much waste for digital printing. Honghua Company has independently developed a set of pre- and post-processing equipment that can match 10 digital printing machines.
4. Honghua Company has established 4 proofing centers and 4 machining centers to ensure that Honghua and the international market are in line.
5, software. As mentioned earlier, proofing accounts for about 70% of the total. In order to solve the problem of using the digital printing machine, Honghua has designed a set of software to simulate the effect of traditional printing.
6. Honghua has 7 years of experience in research and development of digital printing machines. The company has more than 50 engineers in printing, software, machinery, electronics, chemicals, testing and after-sales services.
Fourth, the focus of future research and development of digital printing in China
1. The digital printing machine in the future must have the characteristics of high print quality, multi-function, energy saving and environmental protection.
2. Low-cost ink is also a necessary condition. The domestic ink price must be lower than 150 yuan / l, foreign 200 yuan / l. In other words, the ink price of 3 yuan / square meter is acceptable. Therefore, the price of digital printing will be limited to 10 yuan / square meter.
The development of digital printing in China has unique advantages, and looking forward to the future, the market prospects are expected.
1. As an international textile processing center, China has a satisfactory development atmosphere;
2. China has a unique proofing market in the traditional market;
3. A considerable number of customers have already seen the benefits of digital printing;
4. Changes in market demand provide market for digital printing;
5. The improvement of environmental protection requirements and the increase of labor costs provide vitality for digital printing.
