The DS Digital Hot Stamping System of the China Printing Science and Technology Research Institute is a new digital finishing technology based on the research and development of water-based UV nano-ink, which is a combination of hot stamping, glazing, and gold casting. The principle is to print the water-based UV ink on the surface of the substrate through a high-precision print head, and directly cure, transfer-cure or gold-spray cure, thereby completing the requirements of different finishings.
Key technologies. (1) resin nano-dispersed: resin dispersed in water in the form of nanoparticles is the key to ensure that the ink is not blocked, while water as a solvent to ensure that the glue on the nozzle without any corrosion, greatly extending the life of the print head; Nano-dispersed resin can be used to prepare a more stable nano-suspension system using physical dispersion and chemical vapor blending.
(2) UV glue viscosity and wetting: Viscosity is an important guarantee for the smooth progress of UV ink jet, and viscosity and resin solid content are two aspects of mutual restraint. The higher the solid content, the subsequent drying process can be greatly simplified, Therefore, high solid content and low viscosity is a key factor; for different materials, wetting and wetting speeds have important and stringent requirements. Therefore, hot stamping with different wettability is also critical for different material surfaces. .
(3) Independent module technology: The digital hot stamping process includes four steps of printing, drying, imprinting and curing. Precise printing is the premise, drying is for better imprinting, the first three steps together determine the quality of the hot stamping, the final step of curing, to ensure the durability of the hot stamping effect. To achieve the four modules to be relatively independent, for transport, maintenance, replacement, but also to ensure the continuity of the four modules to facilitate the automated production line.
(4) Software automation technology: It automates printing, drying, imprinting, and curing in four steps to achieve one-touch operation, maintain stable stamping quality, and facilitate operation.
Process. (1) Polishing: The surface of the substrate is maintained at a constant temperature of 30-50°C. The water-based UV ink is sprayed on the surface of the substrate by a printer and dried instantaneously in a transparent viscoelastic state. After printing, the ink is leveled and enters the UV unit, the ink resin. Cross-linking occurs and forms a dry, smooth surface.
(2) Bronzing: The hot stamping unit uses the stickiness of the ink to tear off the aluminized layer on the hot stamping foil and leave it on the surface of the substrate, and the UV resin ink resin is cross-linked to form a flat, high-adhesion hot stamping graphic. Hot stamping process.
(3) Sacrificial gold: After printing, sprinkle a layer of gold powder or metal pieces into the roller unit to press the gold powder or metal piece into the glue, and then enter the UV unit to cure the glue layer. Finally, the excess powder is recovered to complete the gold scattering process.
