Use Illustrator CS2 to draw map lines evenly, full of color and beautiful, with a beautiful surface effect. On the basis of a large number of practices, the author explores the techniques of converting data together by computer and printer in the conventional hardware environment, and finally printing out large-scale vector data.

1. System and software settings: first open the Illustraror CS2 software, in the Edit / Preferences / Plug-ins and Scratch Disk, select the disk with the largest remaining space as the main scratch disk. Second, in My Computer/Properties/Advanced/Performance Options, set the virtual memory initial value and maximum value of the selected scratch disk to 1024M. Finally, select the HP 5500ps printer in Start/Printers and Faxes, right click, select Preferences, set the paper size to “PostScript Custom Page Size” in Paper/Advanced, and customize the paper size to “Paper Width×To Print The height of the map", the length is set to be long enough.

2. Format conversion and printout: first open a vector map in ai format, select all layers, create a contour in the "Text" main menu, select the free point in the "Select" menu, and then delete the free point. Secondly, use the ruler tool to measure the length and width of the map. Select the size and direction of the frame according to the width of the paper. In the file/print option, the printer selects HP 5500ps, the PPD option is the default value, preset in “Advanced”. The resolution is high and low, and the print to file is selected in Settings. Select the approximate range to print the output graphic, you need to scale the graphic, input the scaling and then drag, then click Print. Then enter the target folder name in the dialog box that pops up, in the format *.prn. Once again, open the Acrobat Distiller 7.0 software and drag the generated *.prn into the software and automatically convert it to a *.pdf file, all in the same directory. And open the data with Acrobat 7.0, select the crop tool in the tool / advanced editing tools, cut the white edge. Open the ruler in the view menu, select the print range according to the specified precise range, and output the block. Finally, you can smooth out the picture by adjusting the orientation of the web and the paper by rotating the page in "Documents" and "File/Print".
