In the actual work, the author observed that the quality of some books and magazines is very unsatisfactory, and sometimes I feel very uneasy and regretful. Some problems are difficult for the printer to improve. From the perspective of binding and processing, several questions have to be asked here to discuss with the design designer. These problems have both the problem of binding and the problem of binding materials.
First, the problem of binding method. The binding of Lekou books should be locked with a lock, and it is not advisable to use the binding method of wireless binding. The wireless glue book is flat and flat, but from the point of view of the binding process, the book of Lekou uses the binding of the perfect binding. In the binding processing, the cutting part is first cut, and then the back of the wireless binding machine is milled. Hair, brush, and cover. The part of the incision has been formed, and it is pressed by the binder of the perfect binding machine, which will inevitably cause deformation of the incision part and affect the product quality. To make it non-deformable, the perfect binder is processed twice. In the first processing, the waste paper is first wrapped on the back of the book, and then the paper is torn off and then processed a second time. The cost of the time-consuming and cost-effective material (increasing the hot melt adhesive) is more expensive than the binding of the lock stitch. Obviously, this type of binding is not desirable. Therefore, the author believes that if there is a book of Lekou, it is better to use the binding method of the lock line.
Second, paperback books, coated paper cover is not plastic, the background color of the cover does not use deep background color as well. Coated paper is afraid of moisture. When it is wet, it will not only wrinkle, but also stick. The adhesive used for the cover of the paper bag has a certain moisture (except for hot melt adhesive). If the bottom color of the cover is deep, the cover will be affected by moisture when the surface is covered, and the color at the seal and the bottom of the cover will stick, causing a little white eye-marking and affecting the appearance. If the cover is darker, the more obvious this phenomenon is, on the contrary, slightly better.
In addition, the hardcover coated paper ring printed with dark colors has similar problems as described above. When the case is hard-packed, the adhesive is applied to both sides of the book case. After the book case and the book block are assembled, the groove is heated, and the coated paper will be stuck when heated. In this way, the background color of the ring lining will be white, which will damage the beauty of the ring lining.
Third, hardcover books on the use of binding materials, we believe that there are currently two problems that seriously affect the firmness of hardcover:
First, the hardcover cover of the paper uses coated paper without plastic molding, which directly affects the firmness of the book case. Coated paper itself is very poor in fiber and flex resistance. The firmness of hardcover books is mainly determined by the firmness of the connection between the book case and the book block. The book shell fabric has poor flexing performance and is easy to break. The book shell and the book block are easily separated, which directly affects the product quality.
In the past, some hardcover books were made of cloth and paper, and some books or books were also used in this way. The purpose is to enhance the fastness of the book case. We think this is much better than the simple paper case and the quality is better. If you must use paper hardcover, the quality of the paper waist will be better.
Second, the hardcover back cloth does not use non-woven fabrics for gauze, which has a certain influence on the firmness of hardcover. The non-woven fabric is made of a cellulosic material glued with an adhesive, and its flexibility is far less than that of gauze.
The degree of firmness of hardcover books has been determined by the degree of bonding between the bookcase and the book block. What kind of binding material is used on the back of the book will have a direct impact on the firmness. For many years of production practice, we know that some may consider cost or benefit, so the consideration of binding materials is sometimes less favorable. For example, some world literature classics are hardcover, the cover design is very exquisite, the printing quality is also very beautiful, very collectible value, but from the frame material used, the cover coated paper is not plasticized, the ring lining is coated paper, The back cloth is a non-woven fabric, and all three kinds of binding materials lack flexibility, are not tough, and are easy to break. The hardcover books made of this kind of binding materials are definitely very poor. If you can't afford to read them, the book case and the glue will not be used for a long time. The book case will be broken, the ring will be broken, and the back of the book will be broken. The perfect hardcover is all shelled, and in the end it is the escape of the "golden shells", which makes the readers laugh. Hardcover books, only about the appearance of beautiful, not to mention the inherent strength of the similar phenomenon is more common.
