After China successfully hosted the Olympic Games in 2008, due to the impact of the global economic crisis, the demand for China's paper packaging industry has shown a significant downward trend. As of the end of 2008, there were sales difficulties and product backlogs in the industry. All papermaking enterprises had to cut production and limit production, deal with low-priced stocks, and consume high-priced raw materials, resulting in a sharp drop in gross profit margin and widespread losses in the industry. As of November 2008, China's paper industry gross profit margin decreased by 1.26 percentage points year-on-year. From September to November 2008, operating income and total profit decreased by 5.51% and 34.16% from June to August of 2008.

According to the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan", by the end of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, China's printing industry's total industrial output value is expected to reach about 440 billion yuan, accounting for 2.5% of Tongmin's GDP; printing production and processing capacity will enter the world's forefront. It is estimated that by 2010, the overall market growth rate of print products worldwide will be 3% to 4%, and the printing industry is facing increasing competition and pressure.

It is expected that when China enters 2010, digital printing will increase from 4% of the total printing towel market to 14%, of which inkjet technology will account for half; in 2015, global digital printing output will reach 124.8 billion euros. The overall growth rate of prints in 2010 will be between 3% and 4%.

With the development of China's economy and the integration with the international economy, the pace of international capital entering the printing industry in China has accelerated. By 2020, approximately 50% of the world's prints will be produced on digital presses. Variable data printing will be the main driver of the industry. In the next decade, ink-based printing technology will give up some of its own market to digital printing technology, but digital printing technology will never replace home printing. In short, the series of figures shows that the development prospects of China's printing industry are promising.
