    The International Color Consortium (ICC) has proposed a color management solution based on ICC Profile (Device Profile), which is often referred to as ICC color management. The theory and principle of ICC color management are not described here. Only the methods and steps of applying ICC management are briefly introduced.


    The ICC device profile allows the colors in the image to be accurately mapped into the color gamut of the output device's color space to produce the same or very similar colors, thereby preserving the overall appearance of the original image. The more accurately the target profile describes the performance of the output device, the more accurately the color management system can convert the actual color values in the image.


    Creating a configuration file for an output device requires some auxiliary equipment, such as a spectrophotometer. With these aids, and through the following series of steps, a complete color correction profile can be generated. These steps can be divided into:


    (1) Print color card - A pre-made color card is printed by an ink jet printer.


    (2) Reading the printed color card - the color card printed by the ink jet printer is read by a spectrophotometer.


    (3) Generate Profile - A color profile for the inkjet printer is generated by professional color correction software.


    (4) Reprint the color card - reprint the color card using the color corrected configuration file.


    (5) Repeat the above process until the color reaches the closest ideal color.


    The closest ideal color is to extend the color gamut space of the inkjet printer to the maximum extent. The ultimate goal of color correction is to bring the actual printed color of the inkjet printer closer to the color seen on the screen. Since the inkjet printing machine is finished after printing, the cloth blank needs to be steamed and washed, and the process also affects the color deviation. Therefore, the best method is to read the color data of the post-processed color card through the spectrophotometer. Bring the data closer to the final product result.
