Second, the key to the digital version of the technology
1. RIP mode
1RIP before the big version. First, put the page into a large version and send it to RIP, which is the most common way at present. The features are: first complete the layout and trapping of each page, then perform the layout of each page, and produce an output file containing OPI instructions (calls for high and low resolution images for RIP), and finally this document Send to RIP for processing. The disadvantage is that you have to wait for the entire layout to be assembled before you can RIP, and if there is an error in the layout, you must go back to the original software and modify it before spelling, RIP, and RIP interpretation is more time consuming, so the efficiency is lower.
2RIP after the big version. First RIP page, this workflow simplifies the modification of the final file. If you find that a page contains a typographical error, you only need to re-request the page once after correcting the error, and replace the original error. This is much more troublesome than re-routing the entire large version. The disadvantage is that After RIP, the files are generally large, and there are certain requirements for file transfer and storage. This imposition method is the future development direction.
2. Imposition method
① fold hand fight. Folding hand is mainly used for samples, books, albums and other printed materials that need to be folded. The process of imposition is complicated, and the operator needs certain professional knowledge on printing and post-press processing. For example, the size and weight of printed paper, the way of printing and folding, and the like.
② free fight. It is mainly used for the purpose of saving materials (film). The main working method is to put together different files of different sizes. Its imposition method is relatively simple, so that the effective use area of the film is the largest, but it is printed on the same machine. The file group version also needs to have a certain understanding of the printing method.
3. Printing method
① double-sided printing
Most sheets are printed on both sides of the sheet. Double-sided printing is one way. Double-sided printing requires a multi-unit printing unit with operating devices between the units. This facility can toggle the printed sheet to the other side while allowing the remaining units to print the second side. This facility, which allows the sheet to be flipped, is called a perfecting press.
② single-sided printing
For single-sided presses: there are three ways to print: self-turning, rollover and front and back printing. The difference is how to deal with the first side of the sheet after it has been printed.
Self-turning means that the front and back sides of a print are on the same plate. The long side of the paper is the edge of the mouth. The first side is flipped after printing, and the face of the paper is kept still. This means that when the second side is printed, the paper jam caught by the printing machine is the same as the first side. After printing, cut in the middle of the paper to obtain two complete identical prints.
Rolling is similar to flipping, except that the first side of the sheet is printed, the paper is not flipped, but rolled. This means that the paper is not on the same side of the paper. Rollover has rarely been used, mainly for prints that cannot be reprinted.
Pros and cons printing means printing the second side of the page with a different plate. For the front and back layout, you need two separate versions, one for each side.
4. Folding method
Different folding methods mean that the page layout is different, so you should consider how the post-folding method is when you are working on a large version.
5. Other elements
① Bleeding: Many print providers have different bleeding requirements.
② binding method: for example, perfect binding or saddle stitching and other common binding methods.
③ Crawl: The creep change depends on the paper thickness. It is possible that each job has different crawling characteristics.
④ bottle status: The bottle status means that the paper is not square after being folded. The bottle type state changes depending on the folding mode and the binding method. Make sure the application allows different variations to be entered to achieve the minimum bottle shape.
