In Photoshop's Gamma Color Correction Tool, fine adjustments can be made according to the Gamma (Contrast Factor), Color Blance (Color Balance), White and Blank (Black and White Field) and Grayscale (Grayscale) displayed on the screen. These settings can solve the color shift of the display, so that the image can get the same display effect on different displays. The more important purpose is to make the color displayed by the display close to the color of the printed product, realizing "what you see is what you get". In the Macintosh, the Knoll gamma software can be independently activated to color the display. In addition, if a third-party display color correction tool such as Radius Calibrator or Daystat's Colorimeter24 is installed, one of the color correction tools should be selected, otherwise the display will be wrong. Gamma color correction process:
1. After the display is turned on, there should be a half-hour warm-up time to keep the display in a stable state;
2. Turn the indoor light source to a level that can be kept at a constant level and turn off the extra light source to prevent these dynamic changes from affecting the brightness and contrast of the display.
3. Turn off all desktop patterns and set the background color of the display to neutral gray so that it does not affect the vision during the calibration process and helps to adjust the gray balance.
4. Gamma value setting. In the Macintosh Apple menu option, select Control Panel Gamma to open the Gamma panel and select "ON" in the lower left corner to turn it on. If you don't find the Gamma panel in the Control Panel, you can open the Photoshop folder. The Goodies folder The Calibration file is corrupted. When you open it, you can see the Gamma icon (Icon). At this point, drag the Gamma file to the control panel, restart the computer, and the settings in the Gamma dialog will work for the display. Select the appropriate Target Gamma, the target gamma value, at the top of the dialog. If the output image is a CMYK image for printing, it is recommended to use a Gamma value of 1.8; if the image will be output on a device in RGB color mode (such as other monitors, film recorders or RGB printers), the Gamma value is generally set to 2.2; If the image is output to other applications or platforms, the Gamma value of 1.8 has a wider applicability.
