6. Uplift printing ink
(1) bulge
Often used for business card printing. The so-called uplift printing is derived from the use of the ridge printing press by Barco in the United States. The resin powder is heated and melted (140 to 150 ° C) to bulge, but the ink of the base can be used with the usual offset ink and letterpress ink. Offset paper with a heavy amount of raw material, light paper or coated paper may wrinkle or foam due to heating.
Printing method: use offset printing or letterpress + ridge printing.
(2) thick and bright oil
The UV varnish is overprinted on the ridged portion by screen printing. The types of varnishes are lacquer-like, matt or wood-grained. Used in a variety of product samples and stereo seals. Recently, the product samples of building materials are not printed with real products, but are printed by this method.
Printing method: screen printing.
7. Fluorescence, light storage ink
(1) Twilight fluorescent ink
Nowadays it is widely used. It seems that there is no particularity. In fact, from the perspective of color effect, it is a kind of fluorescent ink with a brilliant color that is not available in general ink. The phosphorescent ink absorbs ultraviolet light and short wavelength ends and has the property of being converted into long-wave color light, which is equivalent to the use of a pigment having a color light amplification effect.
With this brilliance, high-brightness printing can be achieved, that is, using the same pattern, generally 4 colors + yellow (black, blue, black) printing, 4 colors + fluorescent color (1 ~ 2 colors) to print, you can get more For vivid reproduction. Recently, the printing industry in the world has actively introduced a flip-type 8-color printing machine, and with the spread of personal computers, the color reproduction area of paper media has been expanded, and multi-color printing of five or more colors has become more and more popular. As a result, this technology will undoubtedly further develop this technology. However, since the fluorescent pigment (the fluorescent dye is dissolved in the resin and dissolved in a solid solution to be pulverized), the optical rotation resistance is poor. If offset printing is used, the ink film is thin and it is easy to cause fading, so it is necessary to pay attention to selecting a good variety. For items such as advertisements that require high resistance to optical rotation, screen printing with a thick ink film should be used.
Printing methods: offset printing, screen printing, gravure printing.
(2) Colorless fluorescent ink
Because of its anti-counterfeiting, it is often used to print stocks or tickets. The pigment used in this ink is different from that used in the fluorescent light. Usually (light or fluorescent light) is white or slightly yellowish, but once a certain wavelength of ultraviolet light such as invisible light is projected, it absorbs ultraviolet light and converts it into visible light to develop color. Generally, inorganic pigments (zinc sulfide, zinc oxide, etc.) have weak color development, and the amount of ink used is large when the ink is produced, but the light resistance is good. A small amount of organic pigments have excellent color developability, but are poor in optical rotation resistance.
Printing methods: screen printing, typography, offset printing.
(3) Light storage ink
It refers to inorganic fluorescent pigments, especially those that absorb sunlight or fluorescent lamps, which are accumulated and gradually released in the dark, and made into inks using pigments with luminescent functions. If the pigment particles are too fine, the luminescence will be weak, so the particle size will be coarser. For this reason, when used for printing, it is mainly used for making ink for screen printing.
8. Optically resistant ink
The optical fastness of printing inks depends essentially on the pigment used. 4-color plate making blue (blue pigment: CI pigment 15:3) and black (carbon black: CI pigment black 7) are not a problem for light, but yellow (mainly bisazo) Yellow AAA: CI Pigment Yellow 12) and Red (Magenta 6B: CI Pigment Red 57:1) are prone to cause discoloration. In the case of yellow, there are CIPY97 (monoazo) PY109 (exotic mouthpiece), and in the case of red, there is a strong optical resistance pigment such as CIPR122 (indole ketone), but ink is produced. The cost of the time is too high, and it must be considered whether the use and the post-budget ruling are adopted or not.
The investigation method for the optical rotation resistance of printing inks (see Table 1) can be carried out by means of an outdoor exposure and fading tester or an instrument such as a weather fastness tester. This is the result of certain conditions. Due to the different effects of the film thickness, density, pattern, and print storage environment of the ink, it is difficult to clearly obtain the absolute value. Therefore, in the case where an anti-rotation ink is required, it is preferable to first propose specific conditions for use to the ink manufacturer, and it is necessary to clearly explain the contents of the frequently printed pattern.
In addition to resistance to optical rotation, such as the need for water resistance, alkali resistance, solvent resistance, etc., should be clearly discussed in advance.
Printing methods: offset printing, screen printing, gravure printing.
9. Environmental response ink
On a global scale, environmental protection activities are at a climax, and are no exception to print-related industries. Recycled paper has been used more in the newspaper industry than before, and it has been put in place in other printing industries.
As for the ink industry, more than one hundred kinds of materials have been specified in the 1990s. In addition, in the field of offset printing, inks corresponding to the ecological standard of aromatic hydrocarbon-based solvents are not used. Soybean oil inks such as deinking and VOC reduction have been continuously put into the environment to cope with the design of inks. Furthermore, in December 2002, not only in the field of offset printing, but also in the field of gravure printing and flexographic printing in all areas of the ink, there is a targeted environment for inks to be marketed. In the past, the use of aromatic-free inks has been promoted, and it is now driving the reduction of VOCs as a new standard.
The gravure ink is required to be free from toluene and water. Flexographic inks require water-based and UV-based inkjet inks that require no aromatics and low VOCs, no VOCs, and no hazardous materials.
If all the inks are suitable for the environment, it is ideal. Under the current conditions, if you can use environmentally-friendly and value-added inks, and use recycled paper, it will undoubtedly improve the image of the printing company. .
Conclusion
Although the special ink is used in a small amount, its functionality and conceivability are very high. According to the planning, including the things involved, it is possible to produce unexpected benefits.
According to the requirements of the publishing house and the advice from the printing company, no matter what the price of the general-purpose ink is, the printing machine is limited, and everything is included. After careful consideration, what ink is used for the planned business and It is better to make a proper decision on the printing method.
