What software should I use for prepress design? Three types:
Image Processing: Photoshop
Graphics processing: CorelDRAW, FreeHand, Illustrator
Typesetting software: QuarkXPress, PageMaker, InDesign
Note: Do not use graphic software instead of typesetting software, although they also have typesetting features. However, their output stability needs to be improved. Please do not risk rework because your files may not be output.
The version of the software used: First of all, in order to ensure stability, please do not use the Chinese version of all English software, try to use the original English version, try to use the high version under the premise of stability.
1.Photoshop has no special requirements
Its version so far is very stable. In addition to the release of 8.0 to the fourth quarter of 2003, the current highest version is 7.01. If the English is not good, you can use its Chinese version, but not the Chinese version.
2.PageMaker please use 6.0 simplified Chinese version
6.5 Chinese version and 7.0 English version are not recommended here. There are too many problems in 6.5, which has seriously affected our work. 7.0 is good, but Chinese is not supported. We are in China and rarely deal with Chinese, so 6.5 Chinese version And the English version of 7.0 is excluded. In addition, do not put 6.0 in Win2000 or XP, which will make 6.0 originally stable things become unstable (because 6.0 does not support NT platform), we regret here that Win2000 and XP are stable, they are suitable Other fields are not suitable for the printing field (for PageMaker 6.0). After InDesign matures and can replace PageMaker, Win2000 and XP will be a good working platform.
3.CorelDRAW please use 8.0 simplified Chinese version
Put it on the SP2 patch package. If your English is very good, you can use 11 English official version, 11 Chinese official version has been out, but I don't have time to test it enough enough stability, if stable enough, you can give up 8.0 version and use 11 Simplified Chinese official version, the difference 11 Chinese official version instead of the test version is: open the Volinfo file in the installation disk, if you see the word "Beta" in the first line Product Name: CorelDRAW 11 SA Beta, Beta Chinese is the meaning of the test, then this version It's the beta version. It's popular online now. Please don't download it. If you don't see Beta, then congratulations, you are using the official simplified Chinese version. Corel has only published 6.0, 8.0 and 11.0 simplified Chinese versions, others. The versions are all in English (not counting the traditional Chinese version of Taiwan). You can run 9.0 Simplified Chinese. Click on Help and find that the help is all in English. Using 9.0 Simplified Chinese has a special trouble, that is, things that can't be opened with other versions, including 10, 11 will not work, can only be opened with 9.0 Simplified Chinese, 9.0 English and Traditional Chinese can not open it. It doesn't matter, but 9.0 Simplified Chinese has a problem, that is, the file is best saved as a save. If you only save it, then your work may be white, because saving the command sometimes does not save your work, there is also an export EPS. Error, this problem can be copied from the traditional Chinese version of the IEEPS91.flt file to cover the solution, the so-called patch on the Internet is just this file. After exporting the EPS, you will see that the interface is in Traditional Chinese. This is the reason. The exact name of 9.0 Simplified Chinese is 9.0 Simplified Chinese Chinese special edition. Now there are patches on the Internet to convert the 9.0 Simplified Chinese Special Edition file into a non-special version, so that the 9.0 English version, 9.0 Traditional Chinese version including the official high version recognized by Corel above 9.0 can open the file. In fact, the patch work is only a case of the conversion file. In fact, Corel officially has a 10.0 official Chinese version that can open the file without having to use a patch. Because it is official, the compatibility is much better. You can take the time to test 11 Simplified Chinese version. If there is no big problem (the big problem is not a very serious mistake), it is impossible for a software to have no errors. If it is only a small problem and does not affect the use, you can use 11 with confidence. Simplified Chinese version without worrying about the problem of 9.0. After using 11 to have a 9.0 special version conversion patch, so 11 can open the 9.0 special version of the file. The reason why I didn't mention 10.0 more, because I said above: try to use the high version under the premise of stability. Another sentence is, please do not use the finished version. Because 10.0 and 11 have Chinese versions.
4.Freehand current highest version
There is the FreeHand 10 Simplified Chinese version in the Macromedia Studio MX package and the Freehand MX (commonly known as Freehand 11) Simplified Chinese version in the latest Studio MX 2004 package. Both can be used with confidence. Because it is the official Simplified Chinese official version. FreeHand 10 is the official version of Simplified Chinese on the first PC platform. It solves the problem that the Chinese platform can't input Chinese in Freehand, but the English version doesn't work, so the PC platform does not use the English version (the Apple platform does not have this problem).
