1. Dot: The dot is the smallest unit that makes up the printed pattern. Due to the different plate making methods, the dot reflected on the plate roll is also different: the size and depth of the wire point change with the change of the wire mesh; the corrosion of the coated mesh point changes with the mesh. It only changes in the size of the dot; the change of the mesh of the laser version is generally expressed in the depth of the dot.
2. Color: The color of the object comes from light. Most of the objects in nature are not luminous, such as prints, flowers, and trees. Their color is produced by reflecting or transmitting the color light of the solar spectrum. The three primary colors of light in nature are red, green and blue. The different combinations of the three colors can form a myriad of colors; the three primary colors of the pigments are cyan, magenta and yellow. In theory, the three pigments can be mixed in different proportions. Get all the colors in nature.
3, hard scraping and soft scraping: the different methods of the scraper in gravure printing are not the same in printing. Hard scraping means that the scraper is shorter than the supporting blade, and the effect contrast is large. It is easy to wear the plate roller, which will have a little effect on solving the unclean surface. Soft scraping means that the scraper is longer than the supporting blade, and the effect is that the color tone is gentle and fogging is easy. It will be helpful for the transfer of the shallow part of the plate.
Transport and storage of the plate roll:
Protective measures should be taken during the transport of the plate roll, such as a thick corrugated paper on the surface of the plate roll, avoiding collision and bumps during transportation.
The plate roll is first cleaned after printing, and the ink residue in the plate roll will cause chrome and blockage. Then apply a layer of anti-rust oil evenly on the plate roll, wrap it in a soft paper (also available as a waste sample after printing), and store it in a cool dry place.
It is important to note that the storage location should be kept away from acidic substances.
**Gravure plate roller care guide**
When the chrome layer on the surface of the gravure plate is exposed to corrosive liquids such as acid or alkali, gas or unqualified solvent, it will be corroded quickly, forming small dots on the plate surface, and will be transferred on the printing film during printing. . This phenomenon is more likely to occur in humid environments because the moisture in the air readily absorbs acidic or alkaline gases, and the air is in contact with the surface of the plate at any time. When the chrome layer is just corroded, if it is not replated as soon as possible, it is likely to corrode the copper layer in a short period of time, causing the plate roll to be scrapped, causing unnecessary loss.
In order to effectively avoid the above phenomenon, our company has provided a method for preserving the plate roller through various aspects of research, for reference in use:
1. After a print is completed, the plate roll is cleaned with a solvent;
2. Wipe the surface with a clean soft cloth, and do not leave fingerprints (because fingerprints contain corrosive components such as sweat);
3. Use a soft cloth to remove the clean, low-volatility, light-weight engine oil, and apply a uniform layer on the surface of the plate. Be careful not to use waste engine oil.
4. Wrap the oil-coated plate with a film (or waste film), (ink side facing out), stand it upside down or shelf it in a ventilated, dry room.
The above method has been verified to provide a certain protection for the plate roller.
Problems and treatments in the printing of the plate roll:
First, the drawing line: In the printing process, non-patterned lines sometimes appear on the printed samples, and the lines are intermittent.
Cause: Mainly due to contamination of the ink and coarse ink particles.
Solution:
1. Polishing the printing plate with 1000# sandpaper will start at the drawing area.
2. Replace the scraper or sand the scraper to adjust the blade pressure and angle.
3. Impurities in the ink can cause drawing, and the ink can be filtered or replaced.
4. Printers that often have drawing phenomena should pay more attention to the environment of the printing workshop.
Second, the bite color: the printing process will appear after the one-color ink will bring the previous color ink down.
Cause: This is often caused by the fact that the previous color ink has not finished drying and the second color ink has started to transfer.
Solution:
1. Reduce the printing speed.
2. Use a fast drying solvent.
3. Adjust the temperature and wind speed of the drying system.
4. Reduce the pressure of the impression cylinder.
Third, the dirty version: high-speed gravure will have a dirty version of the problem, the performance of the non-printing surface of the drum will also be stained with a layer of ink, so that the printed matter is smudged.
Cause: Mainly due to the precipitation of a large amount of resin, and the affinity of the resin to the drum, under the blade pressure, the resin will adhere tightly to the drum, resulting in dirty plates.
Solution:
1. Use a solvent with strong solubility and fast evaporation. (Refer to the solvent parameter list provided by us).
2. Reduce the viscosity of the ink to fully dissolve the resin.
3. The scraper is used in the printing process.
4, the blade angle is placed at about 60 degrees.
5. If the above methods cannot be solved, try to use 1000# sandpaper to polish the plate roller.
4. Does the netting phenomenon or the turtle pattern bother you?
If we look closely at the prints, especially on brown hue, or when the black version is heavier, we will find a lot of matte but regular interference patterns on the print, which affects the appearance and texture of the product. This is a topic for the plate-making company. After practice and research, we have developed a set of solutions to solve this problem. If your company has encountered such problems, we are willing to relieve your troubles.
5. Annoying transitional white spots (fish scales)?
The transition network must be smooth, delicate and natural in printing, but often there is an annoying phenomenon at 80% of the dots, that is, the fish scales piled up by the dots appear. If you want to make a breakthrough in your product, please contact us.
How to print the best prints?
Seven-point system, three-point printing. One of the reasons why the quality of your product is good or bad is that the plate making company does not have a special process for you.
There are many factors that can make your printer a good product. Printers, inks, substrates, plates, and technical printing staff will play an important role. We know that when different printing presses print the same set of rolls, the effect is very different. The performance on the printed products may be different from the shallow net, the hue saturation is not the same, and the level of the middle adjustment is different. .
Different inks also make a big difference in the printing effect, which is closely related to the characteristics of the ink itself.
The ash, color shift and color efficiency of inks from different manufacturers are not the same. In the end, the gray balance may be imbalanced on the printed products, and the color shift may occur, and a certain color may appear shallow. The influence of different substrates on the printed products will be even greater. The effects of BOPP, PE, PVC, PET paper and nylon in printing are quite different.
The negative effects caused by these reasons can be doubled if you consider them when making the plate roll.
The plate-making company often uses the same plate-making process to make all the customer-made rolls. Such plate rolls are popular. It does not consider the printing conditions of a certain customer. Such plate rolls may not be suitable for your equipment and process. Do not perform at the best performance of the printing plant equipment and processes. Therefore, in order to make your product even better, it is necessary for the plate-making company to understand your printing conditions and let them make special meals suitable for your appetite.
Through research and test development, we have mastered how to make a method and process suitable for the customer's printing-specific process according to the customer's printing conditions, and produced a special plate-making process suitable for the printing process for some printing companies, and the effect is good.
