1. Preparation for the screen

The screen is made according to the designed pattern, the color pattern part adopts 300 mesh screen, the light part adopts 100-200 mesh screen, the specific mesh is determined according to the selected luminescent material particle size, and the luminescent material with larger particle size is selected. A small screen, a large-sized luminescent material, has a large mesh size. The adhesive is screen printed on 100 to 200 mesh. The outline of the protective layer, the cover layer and the adhesive layer screen cover the entire pattern, that is, the entire pattern outline is blank, so as to ensure the quality of the pattern. When making plates, note that the thermal transfer pattern after printing is reversed, and the screen should be reversed to ensure that the pattern after thermal transfer is positive.


2. Raw material

Transfer paper, luminescent materials, thermal transfer inks, thermal transfer adhesives, solvents.

1) Substrate: The selected material should have good release property, and the printed pattern can be smoothly peeled off from the substrate. Generally choose one-side coated silicon paper, the thickness should be appropriate, in the case of acceptable price, it is best to use a thicker coated silicon paper to avoid uneven pattern.

2) Selection of luminescent materials: The particle size of the luminescent material should be appropriate, and the luminescent pattern produced too large is rough, and the luminescent material produced by the same amount of luminescent material is too small. The particle size of the luminescent material is generally selected to be 10 to 25 μm.

3) Thermal transfer ink: The choice of thermal transfer ink is determined by the luminescent material. The ordinary luminescent material is not water resistant. The pH of the ink used should be in the range of 6~8. Only the specially treated luminescent materials can choose the water-based heat. Transfer ink, but the price of such luminescent materials is relatively high, and this method is rarely used in general. The products described in this article use oily thermal transfer inks. Since the luminescent material is used, the transparency of the ink must be required to be good so as not to affect the illuminating effect and the illuminating brightness. The color of the ink selected by the pattern layer should be bright, so as to ensure that the created pattern has a strong three-dimensional effect and a good visual effect.

4) Thermal transfer adhesive: There is no special requirement, as long as the thermal transfer to the clothing is good.

5) Solvent: Generally use a medium dry agent.


3. Craftsmanship

The thermal transfer process is: processing of the base paper → printing protective layer → printing pattern layer → printing luminescent layer → printing cover layer → printing adhesive layer → drying → packaging 1) protective layer: using 300 mesh screen printing once transparent heat Transfer ink (if the viscosity of the ink is too large, it can be diluted to a suitable viscosity with a thinner), and the entire pattern is printed with a transparent ink, which is mainly used to protect the pattern layer, so that the pattern has abrasion resistance, washability and chemical resistance. And play a positioning pattern. It can be dried naturally or at low temperature.

2) Pattern layer: The pattern layer can be printed once by thermal transfer color ink. The mesh size used is 300 mesh, and the viscosity can be adjusted with a thinner according to actual conditions. The order of printing is mainly based on the color from deep to shallow. Pay attention to the positioning so as to avoid the deviation when printing the illuminating pattern. It can be dried naturally or at low temperature.

3) Light-emitting layer: The luminescent material and the transparent thermal transfer ink are formulated into a luminescent ink by 1:1, and the viscosity is adjusted with a diluent.

Screen printing is carried out using 100-200 mesh. The number of times of printing is determined according to the brightness of the light. The brightness of the light is high, the number of times of printing is high, the brightness of the light is low, and the number of times of printing is small. Generally, the printing can meet the requirements twice. It can be dried naturally or at low temperature.

4) Cover layer: Since the luminescent material printing pattern is adopted, a white reflective layer must be printed after the pattern to increase the individualized effect. We used a white thermal transfer ink to print the overlay over the entire pattern with a screen coated with a printed protective layer. It can be dried naturally or at low temperature.

5) Adhesive layer: Finally, use a 100-200 mesh screen to print the hot melt adhesive layer once, to ensure that the entire pattern is covered. Mainly used to bond patterns and fabrics. It can be dried naturally or at low temperature.

6) Packing: The dried thermal transfer mark is packaged with a packaging film and placed flat.


4. How to use and precautions

1) Place the fabric that needs to transfer the pattern on the heat transfer machine. The material of the fabric may be polyester, acrylic, nylon, etc., to ensure that the surface of the fabric is clean. The dried thermal transfer marking adhesive layer is then placed towards the fabric and placed in place.

2) The temperature of the heat transfer machine is raised to 110-120 ° C, the pressure is adjusted to 20 ~ 30 N, the upper plate of the heat transfer machine is pressed for 20 s and then opened, and the fabric is taken out and cooled to room temperature to tear off the base paper.

3) The fabric with the thermal transfer pattern should not be rubbed with a pattern when washing to avoid damage to the pattern.

4) Do not scratch the pattern with sharp objects.


5. Personalized thermal transfer logo features
