In order to improve the dimensional stability of the paper, the paper is usually processed by the following methods:
1. Coating. Paper coating can improve the deformation of the paper to some extent. However, after the paper is coated and dried on one side, the balance system of the fiber and water molecules is destroyed, which will cause uneven distribution of water molecules inside the paper, and the internal stress is inconsistent, causing deformation and expansion of various parts. . If it is not adjusted, it will affect the running suitability of the paper.
Modulation is a process that eliminates the undesired stresses that have been generated in the paper and that are present in the paper, allowing the paper to have a uniform distribution of the proper moisture to ensure that the paper is exposed to normal indoors. Maintain a flat and stable size at temperature and humidity. Therefore, in the process of coating and processing paper, humidification is an important process that is often applied. There are two general types of traditional methods: the older method is to hang the paper in a certain humidity environment or in a large sealed space, and fill a large amount of steam to form a high temperature and stable humidity space. In this state, according to the principle of fiber water absorption balance, the paper sheet slowly absorbs moisture until the absolute moisture content of the paper web is in equilibrium with the moisture content of the surrounding air. With this method, the humidification and adjustment effect of the paper sheet is better. However, it takes up a lot of space and takes a long time, and it is not suitable for webs, so this method has been gradually eliminated; the second common method is to use liquid water to humidify, in a small sealed device, spray Dispersing or changing the shape of small droplets to form an atomization space, using the adsorption principle of static charge to make the droplets contact the paper surface to achieve the purpose of humidification, but this method can only humidify the surface of the paper sheet. The atomized droplets do not penetrate into the fibers inside the sheet, and it is easy to cause excessive moisture on the surface of the sheet to cause paper diseases such as swelling or staining, thereby reducing the quality of the paper.
According to the experience and practice of many years of production, after the paper is humidified and adjusted, the deformation of the paper sheet can be eliminated, the flatness of the paper sheet, the dimensional stability, the calender finishing of the post-process, printing, slitting, Packaging is of great importance. When the paper is in the "free state", if the moisture along the width and the longitudinal direction can be uniformly adjusted to the required value, it is possible to produce a relatively flat paper that is "not deformed", and the risk of electrostatic interference. It can reduce the running performance of paper on the printing press and improve the adaptability of paper printing.
