1.PageMaker automatically jumps pages continuously
PageMaker automatically jumps pages by pressing Shift-Option and selecting “jump page” function in PageMaker to automatically jump pages continuously. PageMaker is a very popular typesetting software, so some books or articles will be typeset with PageMaker. When the manuscript is completed, the designer will preview each full page often, and jump to each page, just press the page number in the lower left corner. Image, or select Go to Page under the list of Layouts. However, with a tens of pages of files, if you press mouse to page by page, or use the list to jump pages, it is very time consuming, so PageMaker has an automatic continuous page jump function, just press Shift-Option and select "page" at the same time. (Go to page) under the (Layout) list, the file will automatically jump continuously, until you press any key on the keyboard to stop the page preview, very convenient and easy.
2.PageMaker quickly connect text blocks
When you use Pagemaker to typeset in Pagemaker by copy and paste, you sometimes need to merge multiple scattered blocks into a single block. If the block and the block itself have a connection relationship, then just drop the roller blind and you can. However, if there is no connection between the two, then only copy or cut one by one, and then paste. Of course, this is one of the practices, but if there are multiple paragraphs of text to be connected, this method is too much trouble and wasted time. In fact, we can select more than one block of text at a time, and connect them together at a time. First, use the indicator tool to select the block of text to be connected. Of course, it is best to arrange the order first, press copy or cut, then open a new block of text, press paste, just the scattered blocks of text will be connected. Together.
3. Output low precision map
Put a picture in PageMaker and ask if you want to include this picture or not. In the case that the picture is a color-removed EPS image, it is only a file header, the degree of interpretation is very low, and its megabyte is less than the threshold of PageMaker. PageMaker automatically includes this file header, and the remaining DCS is no longer linked. The color file will be a low-precision image when output. Similarly, the maps contained in the PageMaker file are modified in other software, and PageMaker does not re-link, and the old ones that have not been modified are still available.
4. PageMaker takes a long time to rewrite the screen when changing pages or making important changes.
Fault: PageMaker requires more screen redraw time than a word processor because it requires precise calculation of the position of each element on the page.
Solution: * Do not use a color master. Select the black and white option in the monitor control panel. * When making a layout, use the pre-set command of the Edit menu to set the Greek text to a large font size. PageMaker shows that the Greek text is much faster, and when you want to see the text format, you can always change the font size back to the actual size. * Display one page each time on the screen. If the layout is a fold, do not display two pages (cancel the FACING PAGE option in the PAGE SETUP dialog). It takes more time to write 2 pages than 1 page. * Change the display to be smaller than the actual page under the PAGE menu.
5. You want to display the entire clipboard around the file, but you can't find the 25% command from the PAGE menu.
Fault: You may temporarily store some text fast, line, frame or graphic on the clipboard, but you cannot see all the clipboard at the same time, and it takes a long time to pull the screen.
Solution: * Select the “FIT IN WINDOW” command from the PAGE menu and press the “SHIFT” button. This selects the “Full Window Display” magnification standard and displays the entire clipboard around the file.
6. Reluctant to change page defaults, input criteria, lines or fill patterns each time a new file is opened
Fault: PageMaker has default settings for each new file format.
Solution: * Create a custom format value, even store the default text, graphics or home page, create a document, save it as a template file * To change the existing default settings when opening any new file, You should select the menu command for the desired setting without having to open the file, and the default settings for all new files will change.
7. Do not want to open a multi-level nesting dialog with two or three buttons.
Fault: Many dialogs generated by PageMaker commands contain dialogs
Solution: Click OK or CANCEL in the current dialog box and hold down "OPTION". PageMaker automatically closes all dialogs and returns to the layout.
Fault: After clicking the Place Text command, you cannot reply from the EDIT menu.
Workaround: Instead of clicking Place Text in the file, click the Pointer tool in the toolbox. This cancels the placement operation.
