At regular intervals, the ink is rubbed on the newsprint and the blank newsprint is rubbed under a certain pressure. When the blank newsprint is no longer dyed by rubbing, the storage time of the scraping sample is calculated, and the drying property of the ink is indicated. It is suitable for the determination of the dryness of printing ink, printing ink and writing ink.
Tools and materials
(1) A square piece of glass having a mass of 0.15 g. The side of the glass piece is 20 mm long and 2 mm thick.
(2) One of the 10g weights.
(3) The newsprint is cut into 15cm x 11cm.
(4) Ink knives and squeegees.
(5) Timepieces.
Testing method
(1) Use a squeegee to place a small amount of the ink to be tested on the newsprint, and use a squeegee to scrape the ink into a thin layer from top to bottom. The thin layer of the ink is about 4 to 5 cm wide and about 12 cm long. Not less than 10 cm).
(2) Record the time when the ink sample is scraped. Place the scraped paper flat on a smooth glass plate (the ink sample is upward) after 15 minutes. The top is replaced by another blank news strip, and the square glass piece and the weight are pressed on the end of the strip near the scraping sample.
(3) Quickly grasp the other end of the blank news strip to move in the horizontal direction along the scraping sample, so that the newsprint rubs against the scraping sample under the pressure of the glass piece and the weight.
(4) Check whether the newsprint is dyed. If it is still dyed, repeat the above test at different positions with new newsprint at regular intervals until the newsprint is not dyed after the test, and then calculate the newsprint after the ink sample is scraped. The time required for no staining is the drying time.
