Environmentally friendly ink

Offset inks have been improved over the years, and generally large-scale ink factory products have met international environmental protection requirements. In particular, in recent years, governments and print buyers have gradually tightened the VOC (volatile organic compounds), heavy metals and plasticizers of inks. The restrictions have made it impossible for ink manufacturers to adopt environmentally friendly materials and formulations, or the products will be eliminated by the market. One or two large-scale buyers of American toy and children's products printing, even require their ink suppliers to pass a set of extremely high specifications and rigorous assessment, in order to become their recognized ink supplier.

Environmentally friendly ink

In fact, the correct environmental attitude and the method of using ink are more important than the environmentally friendly ink itself. Take an example of using an air conditioner: a 1,000 cubic meter room with direct sunlight, using a conventional air conditioner, to reduce the room temperature of 35oC to 21oC in 30 minutes. If an environmentally-friendly air conditioner is used, it takes 40 minutes to lower the room temperature to the same temperature. The latter may not be truly environmentally friendly due to the power consumption time of 10 minutes. The correct and environmentally friendly use of air conditioners is to add curtains to the windows that are exposed to direct sunlight. The gateway to the cold airflow will be closed, and the thermostat will be adjusted to a moderate room temperature of 24oC instead of the ultra-cold 21oC. Waste is the biggest enemy of environmental protection!

Environmental attitudes must include "identity, learning, and application." Everyone who wants to promote environmental protection should know the knowledge and techniques of using materials correctly, and repeatedly test data-supported tests on applications; never use price or subjective cognition as a standard for purchasing environmentally friendly materials. The following points are necessary for environmentally friendly inkers:

1. Ink pre-drying, full drying and the relationship between ink concentration and environmentally friendly ink.

In the first hour after printing, the printed matter is almost pre-dried by osmosis, and then dried by means of oxidized conjunctiva. If the formulation of the ink contains more mineral oil, not only will the VOC content increase, but the ink will infiltrate into the paper excessively. After the print is dry, the color will be much thinner than expected (the following bad chain reaction will also occur in the ink). On the ink with insufficient concentration).

To avoid such a large wet and dry color difference, the printing technician can only add more ink during printing. In addition to a large amount of waste of ink, it is difficult to dry, use more dusting, easy to print and excessively large defects. appear. Therefore, the general printing master tests the newly printed printing with a finger, and thinks that it is a very wrong understanding that the ink that feels relatively quick-drying is good, because the pre-drying time is the speed at which the ink penetrates into the paper, which is not equal to Real quick drying ink. If the ink is printed, there is no need to spray more than normal, and the print will not be printed. This hand-touch dry feeling should not appear too soon.

2. The water resistance of the ink before it is transferred to the paper and in the emulsified state.

This problem, which is generally not mentioned, is actually the biggest key to determining ink stability. Many printers see emulsification as a beast. Before the ink is transferred to the paper, it will be emulsified in different proportions with the sink liquid (water bucket water), otherwise it will produce a bad transfer procedure. To put it simply, emulsification is the "ditch oil" - the ratio of the "ditch oil" and the better the state stability, the better the transfer performance. The ink has strong water resistance in the emulsified state, and the time for the water and ink to maintain balance will be longer. If there is no external factor (such as being affected by too much paper wool), the printing can be continuously performed without frequent shutdown of the blanket. Every time you wash the ink on the blanket with too much water, the volatile cleaning liquid used and the expensive downtime are just the use of ink without environmental protection.

3. Disposal of waste ink from spot color ink

Every printing factory has a large amount of "waste ink" that is mismatched when the spot color ink is mismatched or when the color is modified. At the same time, due to the indirect mismatch of the spot color, the direct and indirect cost of the shutdown is repeated, and the ink is not used environmentally. The data color matching system on the market is very mature. In addition to being accurately assigned to spot colors with extremely low tolerance values, the number of inks can be estimated to avoid the above situation.

4. Other ways to save ink

Today's printing buyers provide more complex sources and standards than ever before. With Ink Optimizer ink optimization software, the four colors in the file can be re-separated according to the printing standard, using different percentages of black instead of too much blue. The gray-black color of the red and yellow overlays makes the ink layer on the prints relatively thin, which not only saves ink but also speeds up the drying process and reduces the use of dusting. These softwares are quite popular in Europe and the United States, the technology is quite mature, and the price is lower than the six-digit number, much cheaper than before, worthy of industry research.

To balance cost-effectiveness and sustainable development, environmental protection is a very difficult task. Fortunately, the printing industry has made very effective improvements in protecting the environment in the past few years. As long as we maintain a correct environmental attitude, we will definitely have a green tomorrow.
