When developing the technology of the CTP system, the most important solution is the performance of the surface sensitization ability of the printed version, and it should be able to maintain the same level of quality as the general printing plate. But this work is very difficult because of the need to improve one feature while the other feature is weakened. For example, when the photographic ability of the surface of the printing plate is improved, the roughness of the surface is increased, and the printing surface cannot have a high-precision printing effect.
The researchers used a pure photopolymer as the photosensitive layer on the surface of the plate. This polymer is a negative one.
