1. Problems in the storage of silver salt CTP plates
In general, the silver salt CTP plate that we often pay attention to has the temperature and humidity conditions, the storage temperature requirement is lower than 30 ° C, the humidity is 30% to 70%, the optimal storage temperature is 23 ° C, and the humidity is 50%. The shelf life of silver salt plates is usually 36 months. For newspaper printing, due to the large amount of plates, it can be basically stored and used as required. In addition to the general preservation requirements, we also need to pay attention to the following issues:
1.1 We usually notice that the temperature and humidity should not be too high. If the temperature is higher than 30 °C, the photographic performance of the film will be greatly reduced. But at the same time, the humidity temperature should not be too low.
Keeping the humidity too low, it is easy to accumulate static electricity in the PS plate. Under the action of static electricity, the PS plate is prone to sparks when separated, resulting in partial discharge of the PS plate. In addition, due to the adsorption of static electricity, the release paper is stuck on the PS plate, and the CTP automatic paper removal device malfunctions, resulting in a card version. What's more, the paper is placed in the platen machine, causing the circulation pump of the plate processor to become clogged, and the circulation pump needs to be removed for cleaning. It causes a lot of time loss. For a practical newspaper, the loss of time is huge and cannot be remedied.
In addition, if the storage temperature is too low, the temperature difference between the storage environment and the use environment will be too large, and the moisture will condense on the PS plate, destroying the photosensitive layer, resulting in failure of the PS plate.
1.2 When saving the PS version, be sure to pay attention to the flatness of the stack. Due to the large weight of the plate material, when the stack is too much, the shelf on which the plate is stacked sometimes deforms under the action of gravity, causing the PS plate at the bottom to be deformed. These plates are often stuck in the platen during use, causing interruptions in production and, in severe cases, even damage to the platen roller.

First of all, different batches of PS version should be stored separately, do a good job to avoid confusion, resulting in the PS version expired. Otherwise, because of the huge weight of the PS version after stacking, it is a very difficult task to bypass the new version of the old version.
2. Problems in the use of silver salt CTP version
The silver salt CTP plate is a mature plate with a stable process. But sometimes there are still some unexpected situations.
2.1 The blank part of the plate is dirty. In the case of the plate material, the quality of the syrup, and the correct exposure, it is caused by insufficient washing of the plate processor. At this point, we should check whether the nozzle of the washing machine is blocked, and the aging of the rubber roller and the insufficient pressure between the rubber rollers will cause the above situation.
2.2 The printing plate part is not inked. Such problems are highly concealed and often cannot be found in the plate making process until they are printed on the machine, which will result in a waste of a large amount of PS plates. At the same time, it will cause irreparable time loss for newspaper publishing.
There are several factors that can cause such problems. First of all, the current plate-making machines are all automatic timing and quantitative supplements. In addition to eliminating human factors such as adding wrong medicine, it is necessary to check whether the automatic replenishment of the syrup machine is normal. In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to whether the medicinal pump of the stencil machine is operating normally. Secondly, the silver salt CTP version has a protective layer. If this layer is not cleaned in the plate processor, it will remain on the PS plate. The printing will also cause the plate to not be inked. The result of this is that the nozzle of the washing machine of the plate processor is clogged.
2.3 printing plate printing rate decreased. The silver salt CTP version generally has a printing durability of about 200,000. Finally, various factors were excluded and the problem was found to be from the tap water used. Since the reservoir was cleaned on the same day, it was found that the pH value exceeded the normal range. It is estimated that the cleaning agent was not rinsed clean. After the water in the reservoir was replaced by the property department, everything was normal.
