As the focus of the world's processing manufacturing industry shifts to China, the pace of development of the Chinese paper packaging industry, especially the corrugated box industry, has accelerated. At present, there are more than 1,200 corrugated board production lines in China with more than five layers, including over one hundred high-speed production lines. There are more than 20 corrugated board (box) production enterprises with a domestic production scale of 100,000 tons/year, and Dongguan Liwen Paper has a capacity of 1 million tons at the beginning of 2005.
According to statistics, in 2004, the total number of cartons produced or shipped in China was 53.03 billion square meters, of which corrugated box production reached 16.537 billion square meters, and the annual consumption of 20 billion square meters will be realized in 2005-2008.
However, in general, the Chinese carton industry is highly competitive, with a serious overcapacity and more than 50,000 production companies. However, under the mode of “centralized board-making, decentralized box-making”, the production of corrugated board in China is mainly concentrated in large and medium-sized enterprises, and the market share of more than 50,000 small carton manufacturers is less than 40%.
At present, China's carton industry has gradually formed three major bases: North China, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, and Shandong, with an annual production capacity of 3 million tons; Yangtze River Delta including Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, and Anhui The province has an annual production capacity of 3 million tons; the Pearl River Delta region includes Guangdong Province, Shenzhen City and Fujian Province, with an annual production capacity of 3.5 to 4 million tons. Corrugated box enterprises in these three regions are ranked in the forefront of the same industry in the country in terms of enterprise scale, production capacity, product quality and production efficiency.
As the representative of the Pearl River Delta, Guangdong Province is the most mature area for the development of China's corrugated carton industry. Guangdong is a business center in South China, with a large output for convenience food, refrigeration and dairy products, home appliances and electronic products. It has great potential for the demand for corrugated boxes. In addition, the huge demand in the Hong Kong market also affects the Guangdong region. Figures show that the current Guangdong Province's cartons for Hong Kong account for 30% of the province's total production. The advanced equipment ownership rate, industry scale, product quality and output value of the carton enterprises in Guangdong Province have surpassed other provinces and cities in the country. Guangdong has more than 300 high-level corrugated board production lines, accounting for nearly one-third of the country's total. From the perspective of industry scale, Guangdong currently has more than 5,000 carton factories and dozens of packaging companies with sales exceeding 100 million yuan. And foreign-invested companies are also the most concentrated in Guangdong.
The Yangtze River Delta region, represented by Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu, is the fastest growing region in recent years. Among them, the sales revenue of the Shanghai carton industry in 2003 reached 6.5 billion yuan, an annual increase of 500 million yuan. According to this speed estimate, it is expected to reach 10 billion yuan in 2010. At present, Shanghai has nearly 1,000 carton companies, more than 120 corrugated board production lines, and nearly 10 companies with annual sales of over 100 million yuan. National China Paper Packaging Development and Production Base (Shengda Group Co., Ltd.), China Paperboard Development Base (Zhejiang Jingxing Paper Company), China Paper Products Nanotechnology Application Research Center (Shangfeng Packaging Group) and other large packaging professional production bases And the center, all settled in the Zhejiang area.
In recent years, the development of China's food industry, especially the dairy industry, has brought huge business opportunities to the corrugated box industry in North China, represented by Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Shandong. Inner Mongolia Yili Group, Mengniu Group, Hebei Sanlu, Beijing Sanyuan, Shanghai Guangming and other dairy giants have invested in production in North China and Northeast China, which indirectly promoted the rapid development of the carton industry in this region.
At the same time, many well-known foreign paper packaging manufacturers have entered China in a big way. For example, Japan's Teene Co., Ltd. acquired China's largest Changfeng packaging company; Japan United Co., Ltd. has invested US$70 million in China to establish 8 companies. Packing plant; Jifeng Company of the United States has invested nearly 100 million US dollars to invest in large paper and packaging enterprises in Tongan Xike Town, Xiamen.
It is worth noting that in recent years, the integration of China's carton industry with upstream and downstream resources has made new developments. For example, Dongguan Nine Dragons Paper Co., Ltd. and Lee & Man Paper Co., Ltd., which were originally in Guangdong Province, are US-funded and Hong Kong-funded enterprises. The two companies have made a useful attempt to integrate paper and carton. Last year, the two large companies established new paper bases in Taicang City and Changshu City, Jiangsu Province, respectively, to integrate papermaking with carton production. In recent years, Maanshan Shanying Paper Group of Anhui Province, while developing papermaking, built a large-scale carton enterprise. After its success, it quickly set up four carton factories and a paper mill in Jiangsu to integrate papermaking with cartons. ,Synchronous development. Yongfeng Yu will also complete the upstream and downstream integration of the mainland carton factory by the end of this year. Last year, Yongfeng Yu invested in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, to set up a corrugated paper machine and kraft board machine with an annual output of 400,000 tons. It will be put into production at the end of this year and next year, fully supplying the Yongfeng Waste Carton Factory, and then improving its upstream and downstream. The effect of integration.
