InDesign CS
InDesign CS has more impressive new features
Workspace indesign cs allows you to save a work panel arrangement as a named workspace (Window>Workspace>Save Workspace) so that it can be opened in the future via menu operations or specified shortcuts. For example, you can save the work panel arrangement when working with text as a workspace, and save the work panel arrangement when processing an image to another workspace.
Tool panel: There are several members in the tool panel, including the button tool (one finger on the button), which is used to create buttons to perform certain operations in the output PDF file; the newly added Bleed mode at the bottom The and Slug mode display options can be used to show or hide the bleed and slug areas on a page; the metrology tool (under the pipette tool) is used to measure the distance between two points.
Control Panel: The new control panel can be used for text input, similar to the Quark measurement panel. If a graphics frame is selected, he will display positioning, resizing, scaling, and other options. And if you choose a text frame, the pair of icons that appear on the far left will allow you to switch between text and paragraph formatting controls.
Control Panel Parameters: Dock at top, Dock At Bottom, and Float commands in the Control Panel pop-up menu can be used to select where the panel appears.
Fixed panel: In previous versions, double-click the label of the panel to collapse it. In Indesign CS, you can just drag the panel's label to the side of the screen to fold it. In the fold area, you only need to click on its label to expand or collapse.
Automatically add headers and footers to the table
When dealing with very long forms, you must be tempted to automatically add a header or footer to a multi-page table. With InDesign, you can create a new table (Table>Insert Table), at the beginning and end of the table, define the specific number of rows as the header and footer according to your needs. If you want to add these elements to the already created table, you need to define the row at the beginning or end of the table as the header or footer, and then select (Table>Convert Rows>To Header or To Footer). InDesign CS automatically applies the changes you make to the main header and footer to all other headers and footers.
Drop cap, nested style
For InDesign, the paragraph drop in the options is no longer a new feature -- but InDesign CS adds a feature that allows you to specify a character style for the first word, and can include saved in a paragraph. style. This greatly speeds up the formatting of complex paragraphs. No matter where and when you use paragraph styles, InDesign automatically processes the text in the paragraph. Below is a small example of saving the drop cap style.
Create character styles
First you need to create the character as the desired style before you can apply the first word to sink or save its style. Using the Character Style Options dialog, we created two different character styles, called the first drop style and the Run-in style. Note that the Run-in style uses a common character spacing, which ensures consistent character spacing between text of different fonts and sizes.
Next, you need to open the Paragraph Style Options dialog (via the Paragraph Style panel popup menu) and find the drop cap and save style panel. Here, we created a paragraph style called Body Text w/Drop Cap And Run-in. Then select the first word sink style for the first word, then specify the Run-in style as the saved style and apply to the first three words in the paragraph.
Application style
Finally, we can apply this Body Text w/Drop Cap And Run-in style to our paragraphs for examples. Note that you can also use Drop Caps and Nested Style directly instead of creating paragraph styles by selecting the drop cap and save style from the pop-up menu in the paragraph panel.
Edit text
For those who are used to the text environment and not the WYSIWYG environment (such as those annoying editors), the new Story Editor is perfect. Just like the editor in PageMaker, InDesign CSr Story Editor (Edit>Edit In Story Editor) displays unformatted text in a detachable window. Any changes you make can automatically appear in your design. However, the Story Editor cannot display the same line breaks as the actual design, so unless you check the actual design, you can't directly see how many rows need to be increased or decreased. The Story Editor Display option (InDesign>Preferences>Story Editor Display) allows you to choose how text is displayed in the Story Editor window (eg font, size, color, etc.).
Select the background object and the object of the character shape {create using the Create Outlines command in the Type menu}
Select the subtract operation in the Pathfinder panel to subtract the shape of the foreground object from the background object.
Quick tips:
Interactive PDF files: You can put movies, sounds, and interactive buttons in your design. When exporting this design with interactive elements as a PDF file, you can choose whether you want to include these elements in the PDF file. File Preset: In the New Document dialog, you can save specific file settings, including page size, margins, number of columns, and bleed/slug areas. MIXED-ink swatch: MIXED-ink swatch refers to ink containing two or more colors. You can create a MIXED-ink swatch, or a set of blended ink colors (using the Swatches panel pop-up menu). Bleed and slug areas: Once you have created a new file, you can choose to set the Bleed and slug areas for each page boundary. In addition, through the tool panel, you can also select the canvas to display or not display the Bled and slug areas.
Create more complex shapes
If you think of Illustrator as a sibling of InDesign, it's possible that InDesign is always behind. Illustrator is always in the lead when considering drawing tools. But it's worth highlighting that when creating complex shapes, QuarkXPress's latest Pathfinder panel (Window>Pathfinder) is used to greatly reduce this distance. You can cut out foreground objects from background objects, merge multiple layers into one shape, create a single path where multiple objects overlap, subtract all objects from the topmost object, or subtract Drop all areas where multiple objects overlap.
Create custom strokes
Previous versions of InDesign included a handy built-in line style, but couldn't create your own style, and QuarkXPress was able to create your own line styles a few years ago. So there is today's Stroke Styles.
The Stroke Styles command is included in both the Stroke panel (Window>Stroke) and the control panel pop-up menu. In the Stroke Styles dialog, you can select the stroke style you want to create (Stripe, Dotted, Dash, etc.) and use it as an underline and strikethrough for the text.
GoLive CS
GoLive CS is a web authoring component in Adobe Creative Suite. Some of the features of j GoLive CS below
InDesign package for GoLive
If you want to create an online version of InDesign CS, use InDesign CS's latest Package For Golive feature. It uses XML to output the contents of the file to GoLive CS. First select (File>Package for GoLive) to package your design, then open the package in GoLive by (File>Import>From InDesign). A window with a preview of the InDesign CS file will appear, so you can select the desired text and image objects from the preview window and drag them into the GoLive CS web page.
Smart object
Smart objects in GoLive CS allow users to work directly with Photoshop, Illustrator, and PDF native files in GoLive CS. When you place these files in a GoLive CS web page, GoLive CS creates a new file (smart object) that is optimized for the web page and retains a link to the source file if you The source file has been modified and the newly created file is also automatically updated. To create such a smart object, open the object panel (Window>Objects), select the smart object tool (a green square icon), then click and drag one of the smart object icons (smart PhotoShop, Smart Illustrator, Smart) PDF) to the web page. If you want to assign an image to a smart object, go to the Inspecto panel (Window>Inspector), click the browse icon, and select an image file. In the Save For Web dialog that appears, you can define the settings you want, such as the format of the file and the size of the image. Please note that any modifications made to the smart object do not affect the source file.
CSS style
GoLive CS's trademark -- The latest CSS Editor makes it easy to create and preview CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) without having to deal with complex code. You can apply the settings you want to properties for text, fonts, forms, backgrounds, and margins, and see the results of the changes in real time.
Version Cue
Version Cue is not a creative tool, but it handles your files very efficiently.
What is Version Cue?
Unlike other Adobe Creative Suite components, Version Cue is not a tool to trigger your inspiration and increase your creativity. Instead, it is a system-level file management tool designed to help individual users and small group users manage their wide variety of Creative Suite graphics application files. Simply put, Version Cue helps you save Adobe CS files to a Version Cue workspace -- a specially designed folder on your Mac. Once Version Cue saves a file to the workspace, you and other users in the workgroup can open it in this workspace, edit the file, and save it as a new version. Since shared files are stored in local workgroup disk storage, there is no need for other expensive servers (Version Cue also handles conflicts with shared files very well - so you don't need to open Apple File Sharing ).
Workgroup management
Here we are going to discuss the role of Version Cue. If a workgroup chooses to use Version Cue, you will need to use the Version Cue browser-based management tools to perform the required administrative tasks. To open this management tool, click the Advanced Administration button in the Version Cue system parameters. The Adobe Version Cue workspace Administration tool can create users, set user permissions, delete old versions of files, create new projects, and other advanced administrative tasks such as modifying Version Cue parameters and exporting projects to another computer. .
How to use Version Cue
Install and open To install and use Version Cue, select (System Preferences> Adobe Verslon Cue). In the Preferences panel, adjust the workgroup size and other related options, then select On in the Version Cue menu to open Version Cue. The location panel allows you to select the folder location where the Version Cue project is stored, as well as the folder location where the project backup is stored.
Enabling Version Cue To open Version Cue in PhotoShop CS, Illustrator CS, and InDesign CS, select (Preferences>File Handling) (File Handling & Clipboard in Illustrator CS) and check Enable Version Cue. The settings for these changes are retained the next time they are used. (In GoLive CS, Version Cue is always enabled).
Saving a file to a project If you want to save a file to a Version Cue project, select it in PhotoShop CS, Illustrator CS, or InDesign C (File>Save As) and click the Version Cue button. Use the file browser menu at the top of the dialog to navigate to the folder where the project is located. The project will be displayed below the menu in the window - double click on the project you just created. Click Save. (In Version Cue, you need to access the Version Cue workspace through the Site Manager).
