What is pad printing, common methods of pad printing

Special printing can meet the special printing needs of customers, and pad printing is one of them. Pad printing can print graphics or text on irregular objects, at present, the demand for personalized printing is increasing, and the pad printing technology is more and more in line with the characteristics of private customization. Xiaobian will introduce to you what is pad printing and what are the common methods of pad printing. The type of pad printing machine pad printing process is a special printing technology that has just been transmitted to China in the 80s, because it has very obvious advantages in printing on small area and concave and convex products, making up for the lack of screen printing process, so it has developed very rapidly in recent years. In the early 90s, with the further opening of the Chinese market, a large number of foreign-funded enterprises with electronics, plastics, gifts, toys and other traditional industries as the main body have entered the Chinese market, pad printing technology and screen printing technology as the main decorative mode is to get extraordinary development, according to incomplete statistics, the application of pad printing technology and screen printing technology in the above industries reached 27%, 64%, 51% and 66% respectively. Pad printing refers to the use of copper or steel gravure plates, which are cast into a hemispherical pad head by silicone rubber for the substrate with irregular special-shaped surfaces (such as instruments, electrical parts, toys, etc.), so as to press the ink to the plate to complete the transfer printing. The pad printing machine is mainly composed of a printing plate device (including an ink supply device), an ink scraper, a pad printing rubber head (generally a silicone material) and a printing table. There are many ways to apply ink to etching plates (steel plates). The ink is first sprayed onto the etching plate, and then the excess ink is scraped off with a retractable squeegee. At this point, the solvent left in the ink in the etched area evaporates and forms a gelatinous surface, and then the glue head descends onto the etching plate and absorbs the ink. Ink absorption and printing products: the glue head rises after absorbing the ink of a large part of the etching plate, at this time, this layer of ink volatilizes another department, and the ink surface of the remaining department is not dry, which is more conducive to the close combination of the printed object and the glue head. The shape of the glue head should be able to produce a rolling motion to remove excess air from the etching plate and ink surface. In the production process, the ideal situation of the ink and glue head is that all the ink on the etching plate is transferred to the printed object, and in the production process (close to 10 microns or 0.01 mm thick ink adheres to the substrate and is transferred to the substrate) the glue head printing is easily affected by air, temperature, electrostatic size, etc. If the evaporation rate and dissolution rate are controlled in equilibrium throughout the entire process from etching plate to transfer head to substrate, then successful printing is achieved. If it evaporates too quickly, the ink will dry up before it is absorbed. If the evaporation is too slow, the surface of the ink has not yet formed a gelatinous shape, and it is not easy for the glue head to adhere to the matrix. Nowadays, there is a trend of private customization in all aspects of life, and the pursuit of personality development and innovation is a trend at present, so there is pad printing.
