Low-solvent film ink refers to ink applied to the film with a total solvent content of not more than 5%. It has attracted great attention in the design, manufacture and practical application of printing. It is the ink manufacturing and printing in recent years. Industry hotspots.

Why is the film gravure inseparable from solvent ink?

Why should film inks pay attention to the three general rules of solvent ink when designing?

There are several key points to be aware of when designing and manufacturing film inks!

Why is the ink at this stage still inseparable from solvents?

What are the necessary characteristics of flexo inks for film flexo inks?

In the previous tweets, we have already discussed the first four topics (click on the corresponding topic to enter the tweet). Today, I will share the necessary characteristics of the flexo ink for film flexo ink.

Low solvent content film inks, including gravure ink and flexo ink, three characteristics of solubility, dryness and surface tension, three principles for solubility determination, ink solid content, viscosity, cosolvent, and waterborne resin The basic principles of the glass transition temperature Tg are in fact common. The reason why the film flexo ink is used as the inlet for the liquidization of the liquid ink is that the market operation is easy and difficult to consider, and there is a basic assessment of the current level difference of the various processes in the domestic printing industry.

Compared with the current gravure printing process, the flexo printing process is relatively complete, and the first to complete the switching from solvent ink to aqueous ink, the difficulty is less, and the probability of success is higher.

The flexo ink layer is relatively thin, and the confusion that may affect the printing productivity due to the difficulty in drying the ink is relatively small. At present, the flexo printing machine, whether satellite or unit type, can use ink without changing the drying system, and the printing speed is basically unaffected.

Flexo printing uses anilox roller inking and indirect ink transfer. Compared with the gravure short ink path, the flexographic ink path is slightly longer, and the requirements for the dry characteristics of the ink are not so severe. Therefore, there is no need to modify the inking unit of the printing press to adapt to the dry characteristics of the ink.

Flexo printing does not have the quality of the wire when using solvent ink, even if the same ink and blade are used as the gravure process. Switching to ink still does not cause such a fault, and can avoid a series of complicated calculations such as resin compounding and emulsion compounding in ink design.

Since the flexographic ink layer is thin, the color density in the ink is very high, and in addition to the choice of the pigment, the ratio of the pigment in the ink is also high. In general, the pigment ratio of the gravure solvent ink is only 8% to 12%, and the ratio of the pigment of the flexo solvent ink is as high as 20%. When the flexo solvent ink is switched to ink, the ink layer may be thinner in consideration of slow drying, so the proportion of pigment in the ink is likely to be higher. The basic rule of the liquid ink pigment base ratio will certainly be challenged to maintain the good adhesion of the ink to the film and to achieve a higher pigment ratio than before. Flexo ink must meet this requirement.

The biggest quality hazard of the flexo printing process is blocking. Therefore, like the flexo solvent ink, the film flexo ink needs to be considered to match the surface tension of the non-inking area between the depressed areas of the printing plate, that is, the ink itself is in the non-inking area. The plate is in a contracted state, which acts as a self-cleaning agent for ink adhering to the area under abnormal conditions.

Flexo solvent inks have high requirements for viscosity and fineness. These factors must also be considered for flexo ink. Since the current ink composition mostly uses an emulsion system, the solid content consideration is also essential.

The film ink uses the flexo ink as the cut-in, replaces the solvent ink on a large scale, and solves the environmental problem of the liquid ink from the source. This goal can be achieved.
