Many people ask about the ICC curve, but they don't understand it. Some people even think that ICC curves can print very beautiful pictures. Actually, I will give you a general understanding of the knowledge I have.
First of all, it is well known that the color gamut of RGB in computer software is very wide, and the computer uses computer language; and our printer uses C, M, Y, K or C, M, Y, K, LC, LM etc. We can call it the printer language. Because the color language for the computer output is sent to the printer here, there must be a translator to translate, such as black combination. In the PHOTOSHOP software in the computer, we can set the black to C:50Y:50M:50 (for example, this ratio) The output is not necessarily black. When the computer outputs a combined black language, the printer driver sends a C:50Y:50M:50 command to the printer, and the printer ejects ink according to this command to form a pattern.
Secondly, different materials and different inks will have different reflections. Compared with PP and PP, the chemical reaction of ink on the surface coating is different, that is, when the ink reaches the surface of these coatings. The amount of the quantity will have different effects, so a correction needs to be made when the computer language is switched to the printer language, so that the ICC curve plays a role.
Furthermore, the characteristics of different devices also make a difference between the recognition and execution of these languages, such as EPSON first-generation nozzles and fourth-generation nozzles, which have different recognition and execution capabilities for these instructions and languages, although The ink is the same as the substrate, but different ICC curves are also made depending on the condition of the device.
ICC curve generation: The production of ICC curves is made simple and fast through the cooperation of color management equipment and software similar to EYEONE. EYEONE uses the software to print a standard color block on the substrate, and then input the color block into the software through the spectrophotometer, and compare it with the original color block. The deviation value generated is the ICC curve file. Different materials must have Different curves, of course, different inks have different curves.
Therefore, some manufacturers do not understand the ICC curve, and do not understand the meaning of the ICC curve. It simply simply tests other inks and then blends the inferior inks. It does not provide a complete color service system. This is a serious irresponsibility to the customer! Also, because desktop printers use a small variety of media, there are already some curves-like files in the printer driver, so desktop printers do not require the support of curve files. The curve produced by the device is of course not good.
In large format, devices using the third RIP software require an ICC curve to be loaded into the RIP software for the graphic output of the print media. Therefore, you can't ignore the ICC curve, and you can't just download some curves from the Internet to use it.
