The prepress process is the pre-press process, which involves all the production processes before the official press, that is, the process before the information is transferred to paper or other printing materials. It is roughly divided into four processes: original → plate making → output film → proofing.

If the various steps of the traditional prepress process can be done on a personal computer, then this constitutes desktop publishing, which is digital prepress processing. This is different from the traditional prepress process, in the digital prepress process, the following basic links:

(1) The author enters the text into the computer and then delivers the electronic file to the editor. After the editing process, the article is sent to the designer design layout through the electronic media. The artist can directly create various graphics on the computer, or use a flat or roller scanner to scan the original provided by the customer into the computer, and then also the electronic The file is sent to the layout designer.

(2) Designers can use PS or CorelDraw and other professional software to process the graphics and texts. In this process, the text can be modified and edited, and the position and shape of the image can be adjusted. During this period, pay special attention to the color matching of different devices, so you must pay attention to color management in this part. You can use the spectrophotometer to handle various sample sizes, shapes, textures and colors under various transparent levels, and it is accurate and large. Capacity measurement production.

(3) Before making a good file for output film, you should check the following: 1. Whether the file size, page definition is correct, and whether there is enough bleeding. (Bleeding position is generally 3-5mm) 2. Whether the graphic printing (overprinting) is correct and what it means. Coreldraw is called imprinting, and the flat fruit machine is called overprinting. Two spot color overprints (leaked) --- no printing, such as adding fertilizer, plus the outline side needs to be printed. 3. Whether the graphic color is correct, whether there is RGB (if there is a color, several colors will appear together with c.y.m.k) or other incorrect colors. 4. Whether the file is converted between different application software (usually Tif, Eps), resolution (usually 175 lines with 300---350) is correct. 5. Whether the document has a corner (registered crosshair). 6. Can you distinguish between four colors and spot colors, and the meaning of spot colors. 7. Whether the color of the small text and lines meets the overprinting requirements. (Generally requires less than 3 colors) 8. Whether the file with graphic connection is connected to the graphic. The position is correct, the printing and saving format is correct.

(4) After the results of the group version are satisfactory, the electronic file can be sent to the output center to output a high-resolution film through the camera.

(5) Finally, proofing. Proofing can be roughly divided into three methods, namely, proofing machine proofing, (toner) simple proofing, and digital proofing. The purpose is to verify whether the original tone and color reproducibility meet the requirements; whether the layout size, image, text layout, rule line, etc. are correct, and whether there are any omissions, etc. If there is something wrong, it is necessary to make corrections. Provide basic parameters for proofs or printing for official printing, such as ink color, range of dot reproduction, etc., to achieve standardized and standardized operation of printing, and provide customers with samples of final prints.
