The film is a product in which a plastic film coated with a binder is bonded to a paper print by heat and pressure to form a paper-plastic composite product. It is one of the common post-printing processes for paper prints. The film-coated printed matter has a thin and transparent plastic film on the surface, which makes the surface smoother and brighter, which not only improves the gloss and fastness of the printed matter, but also prolongs the service life of the printed matter. At the same time, the plastic film is waterproof. Anti-fouling, abrasion resistance, folding resistance, chemical resistance and other protective effects. If the transparent bright film is used, the printed image of the coated product is more vivid and full of three-dimensional, which is especially suitable for the packaging of green foods and the like, which can cause people's appetite and desire for consumption. If a matt film is used, the film product will give consumers a noble and elegant feeling. Therefore, the packaged printed matter after the film can significantly improve the grade and added value of the product package. At present, common film packaging products include cartons, cartons, handbags, fertilizer bags, seed bags, and self-adhesive labels.
Classification of laminating process
According to the different raw materials and equipment used, the coating process can be divided into two types: coating film coating process and precoat film coating process. That is, the film used in the film coating process is now coated. The binders used are generally solvent-based and emulsion-type, and are used as needed. The film used in the precoat film coating process is pre-coated, and the adhesive used generally has two types of hot melt type and solvent volatile type.
According to the laminating process of paper printed matter, the laminating process can be divided into three categories: dry laminating method. Wet film coating method and pre-coating film method. The dry film coating method is currently the most commonly used film coating method in the country. It is coated with a layer of adhesive on a plastic film, and then dried by a drying oven of a laminator to remove the solvent in the binder, and then dried. Adhesive film products with paper prints under pressure.
The wet film coating method is to apply a layer of adhesive on the surface of the plastic film, and the film is bonded to the paper print through the pressure roller without the dry adhesive. Since the advent of the water-based laminating machine, the water-based laminating process has been promoted and applied, which has simple operation with the wet laminating process, less binder, no organic solvent that damages the environment, and the film print has high strength. High grade, easy to recycle and other characteristics are inseparable. At present, the laminating process is increasingly favored by domestic packaging manufacturers and has been widely used in packaging such as gift boxes and handbags.
In the pre-coating method, the film-making manufacturer directly purchases a plastic film previously coated with a binder, and when a film is required, the film is heat-pressed together with the paper-based printed matter on the film-coating device to complete the film-coating process. The pre-coating process began in the 1990s. The hot melt adhesive or the low temperature resin is uniformly coated on the film substrate by a special equipment according to the design, and the precoated film is obtained. The pre-coating method eliminates the process of blending, coating and drying of the adhesive. The entire laminating process can be completed in a few seconds, no pollution to the environment, no fire hazard, no need for cleaning. Glue equipment, etc. At present, the process has been used in the field of pharmaceuticals and food packaging.
