Digital design can be divided into two parts: “digital” and “design”. Let's take a look at what they are and what they are. Digitizing? I think you should have seen it, and all kinds of information are represented by numbers. For example: "5460" means "I miss you", and then I will translate it into "886". No, right? This is obviously some "play"! In fact, the more precise digitalization should be the digitization of binary, which refers to the step brought about by the establishment of computer theory of binary computing theory. Digital technology originated from binary mathematics. Under the impetus of semiconductor technology and digital circuit science, many complex calculations can be completed by the energy machine or circuit. The development of microelectronics technology today has brought us to the forefront of the digital field. Wait a minute, saying that these things sound a bit too far away, what does it have to do with our title and what does it have to do with design? Then take a look at the concept of design.

Design is imagination, operations, planning, and budgeting. It is a creative activity that humans perform to achieve a specific purpose. (quoted from: "Introduction to Design Studies") The design has multiple features, while the broad design covers a wide range. The design has obvious artistic features, as well as technological features and economic attributes. From these perspectives, the design includes almost all the creative work that humans can do. But today we don't want to talk about our design at such a height, we just grab a part of it. Another definition of design refers to the control and rational arrangement of visual elements, lines, shapes, colors, tones, textures, light, space, etc., covering artistic expression, and structural modeling. This seems to be closer to the design that we usually accept and can feel. Of course, the two definitions are from different scopes and perspectives, and there is no contradiction between them. We know that design is a special art, and the process of its creation is to follow the practical law of seeking beauty. The technical characteristics of the design indicate that the design is always influenced by the development of production technology. The first product that sold for over a million pieces was called the “Tonette Chair.” This rounded product was produced in the mid-19th century as a famous small hotel chair, and it was produced by the Kaure in Motvia. The Zike plant invented new technology for bending and carving wood. It can be seen that the design is indeed inseparable from the technology. Now everyone understands why I am so big, digital design is the close combination of digital technology and design.

Let's start with the "information age". With the advent of the information age, the word "information" has become hotter and hotter. As soon as it is heard, it can be used to "advance" and "advance". "The sense of the times" is linked together. Is this "information" that is now red and purple in the long history without a trace? It seems that this is not the case. From a certain point of view, information is like air and moisture permeating every gap in our lives. Mobility is a very important feature of information. The flow of information becomes extra important. The young invention of computer is produced. When it came out, the waiting time for information came, so when it came to the last chapter of the 20th century in the historical corridor, it naturally broke out! The invention of computers and the creation of digital technology have provided very good conditions for the high-speed storage, flow and processing of information. This is an excellent condition that has not been seen in any era in history. On such a wide stage, of course it will be a blockbuster and more and more red!

The fuse that ignited the big bang of information was "digital technology", which made it possible for all of this "explosion" and prompted it to happen. Today we want to use this "fire" to talk about another "explosion" that it ignited - digital design. Digital technology has brought revolutionary changes to many other fields while bringing about the explosion of information. Digital communication, digital media, specific digital TV sets, digital cameras, digital refrigerators, digital microwave ovens, and simply digital survival! So much digitization has changed our lives. Everything I want can be a lot of things, but I can't go too far away, so I have to say digital design (finally back to the theme!).

Computer technology started out in a small range like many technologies, and at that time almost no one thought of what it is today. There are a lot of such inverted ones: for example, the camera for photography is not the same as many inventions. It is a modified product. It is developed from the 17th century as a black box for the use of plotters. of. After the efforts of several French amateur scientists, the camera using silver chloride paper film finally came into being in the spring of 1816. This cumbersome wooden box (reported to be called the "trapper" by the inventor's wife at the time) is really simple at the moment, and it is really hard to reminiscent of the precision we use in various types of design work today. Yes, the equipment and the colorful pictures that come from it, I think the people who invented it at the time would not think of what it would bring to us, but it is undeniable that it is indeed modern photography. Pioneer and foundation, this "wooden box" has created a new era.

It was in the last decades of the twentieth century that another such "wooden box" was placed before us. It is the generation and improvement of digital technology, digital theory and computer technology, which makes another wonderful change in the design field, computer-aided design, computer-aided drawing, space designers re-drawing the world in virtual space. Create three dimensions. With a few clicks of the mouse or a few keystrokes, we get a wide variety of brushes, almost all imaginable colors, simple operations that have worked for years and years, and of course fast copying And transfer. The various inspirations and ideas that exist in people's minds can be presented more quickly and realistically. In the past, when we wanted to modify the design of the design, it might mean starting again. And now with a high-speed central processing unit (CPU), huge memory can help our tangible design permanently solidify. With the generation of the network, digital technology transforms our tangible design into a light stream that transmits no weight, and the information is transmitted at high speed on various communication protocols, so that your design can be quickly spread around the world. It was learned from the previous days that the creation of three-dimensional digital scanning technology made rapid modeling possible, and digitalization once again greatly promoted the design field. All of this is rooted in "digital-to-analog conversion" in digital circuit science (transformation circuit technology between digital and analog), but if you see the original conversion circuit convert some sinusoidal waveforms into a sawtooth era It is not how to associate it with digital design. All of these explanations show that as technology continues to develop in depth, it seems that technology seems to be getting farther and farther away from us. Speaking of this, if you want to give a little extra-personal opinion, consider that the education methods and corresponding knowledge structures in the relevant domestic areas are relatively backward from the international level, which makes us understand the design for a relatively long period of time. Not accurate enough and deep, many concepts remain at the stage of “art and craft”. Unconsciously, we ignore the important technical components of design (and of course industrial design also ignores the art component). Therefore, the sense of distance of the design relative technology is generated to some extent. In fact, from the perspective of the world, there are many outstanding modern designers who are also from the technical talents. I remember seeing a feature film introducing international digital animation design: "In the future, maybe a computer expert is an animation master, and an artist may also be a successful computer engineer."

As technology continues to grow, the importance of technology is increasingly recognized and valued. Will anyone ask if design will eventually be replaced by technology? Is the design a complete technical product when the technology is strong enough? Maybe one day, I will invent a supercomputer with a number of G's processing speeds of n G of memory, let it do the design by itself.

This is absolutely impossible, and don't expect this day to come. As far as the design itself is concerned, it still has its own strong independence. The broad meaning of design refers to the design that includes creative thinking in the artist's mind. Therefore, some people define the design as “visible in the mind, depicting the results in the imagination, and making it a reality through practice.” It can be clearly seen here that the technology is in the whole process. There are only a few parts that can be involved, and the core is still strictly self-owned by human beings, which depends on human pursuit of harmony and beauty. Even digital design, after all, is still design. Technology will not replace it. Just like the eternal birth of a beautiful poem, the birth of a beautiful sentence is attributed to the creation of words or the invention of a typewriter. Technology is a means in it, and it is an increasingly advanced tool. It brings us new possibilities, prompts us to have more inspiration and more convenient to implement them, but in the end we must seize these wonderful ideas and still rely on people's own efforts, I I think this is the real importance of design. It's also the technology itself that can't do it for you.

From a historical point of view, some people say, “When the primitive man hits another stone with a stone to create a tool, the design naturally occurs at this moment.” Since the birth of civilization, humans have been pursuing it. It. From the first time in 3000 BC, the Mesopotamians used the stamps of the reliefs to mark the pottery. In the long history, those designers who were called “artisans” or “artisans” endured the society. The low status, the establishment of design at the end of the 19th century, the design has really become scientific, until today's design theory is perfect, all kinds of outstanding design is recognized by the world, respected by people (of course, some Something is not doing well in some places). In any period, no one has ever ceased to pursue unremitting pursuits. Different eras have produced great designers, which also shows that a distinctive feature of designers is that no matter what kind of environment or under what conditions, designers must always become creators and work tirelessly. Look for the most harmonious forms of existence, chasing the path to perfection. Nothing can stop them. These are enough to prove the fact that the design itself will never be replaced by technology.

Speaking of this, there is a real problem, the rapid improvement of technology, the continuous generation of new tools, and the fact that today's designers have the conditions that designers have never had in the past few decades or even a few years. They have the complexity and variety of unusual choices, such as the use of old brushes, endless colors, varied canvases, and many unprecedented creative techniques and tools. These undoubtedly inspired the enthusiasm of the designers, giving them new inspiration and excitement. But it also brought them some external interference, which is easy to confuse. I think Photoshop will not be unfamiliar. It is one of the commonly used graphic image design software, and it can be said to be a very famous one, but remember that when you first saw the numerous filters and effects. A feeling of being overwhelmed suddenly surrounded me (perhaps because of my limited level of reason, it will be so unsuccessful, I will feel dizzy when I see foreign advanced software, but this is really my feeling). Faced with a variety of tools and numerous features, the selectivity has become very much. How can we “gray our eyes” and quickly find what we need to reach our desired goal in the shortest way and complete our design in the shortest possible time? This should have become a basic skill for digital designers. I personally think that complex digital design involves complex logic levels. It means that the same result is not necessarily achieved by the same method, and the same effect structure is not necessarily composed of exactly the same elements. Therefore, this puts higher demands on the designers. While paying attention to the effects and overall performance, it is necessary to pay attention to the essential technical details under various phenomena. It is very important to find out the summary and find a reasonable solution. The increasing selectivity of the ever-increasing technology is not as overwhelming as I was at the time. Of course, the best way to avoid blindness is to grasp the essence of design (as mentioned earlier) in order to prevent yourself from losing yourself in the torrent of rapid technological development. Just like in the era of information explosion, we must pay more attention to the quality of information itself and avoid the overwhelming information waste in the information age.

So the relationship between digital design and digital technology should be that technology always supports the completion of design, and constantly promotes the development of design. In turn, what effect does design have on technology? This sounds like a familiar one, and it often appears in the essays of the student era, but the reason is not bad. Obviously, the in-depth development of design will face various needs, and new requirements will certainly be returned, becoming an objective reference for the development direction of technology research. Nowadays, many software developers pay great attention to the information needs of design users. The direct purpose here is of course for the sales of their own products, but it can also be seen that the technical researcher attaches great importance to the information of the design user's needs. After all, it cannot be used or Unusable technology is of no value. In the history, such "non-practical inventions" that do not consider the demand, have not appeared before!

The last thing to mention is a member of the digital designer, the web designer. The last mention is not that they are insignificant, regardless of the tool technology used in the design itself or the relevance of the "fashionable gadget" of the Internet. From a technical point of view, the digitization that web designers are exposed to should be relatively complex and diverse. The space they face in design is unprecedented, and there are many other areas of digital design that their work can cover. Under such conditions, as a web designer, there may be more pressures and challenges. I remember that a colleague who is a web designer once joked that he wants to list the technology he needs now. She said that it must be long. It’s scary, so people who don’t want to be designers anymore. This is of course a bit exaggerated, but it can't be said that there is no basis. Stress and challenge also mean more opportunities and a broader design space. I think “space” is very important for designers, and it is enough to be encouraging. From the current situation, our design and international web design distance is still very large, and the application of various types of design blending technology is still relatively primitive, but we should believe in the digital era that will continue in the future. There must be continuous improvement, and there will be many outstanding designers who will be with us, and they will surely be able to shine like the predecessors who can be role models.
