Summary of printing knowledge
What are positive and negative versions, left and right wheels, and heaven and earth wheels?
Front and back version: A single card has two sides of AB, A and B are each arranged separately for the front and back version;
Left and right wheels: A left and B right co-arranged a piece of the left and right wheels;
Heaven and earth wheel: A on and B on a total of a version of the heaven and earth wheel;
Or:
1 positive and negative version is to say that there are two versions, one is positive, and vice versa....
2. The left and right wheels are also called self-flipping, a pair of plates, and the paper is turned left and right.
3. Heaven and earth wheel, the paper is bitten up and down, one positive and one reverse up and down, head to head or foot to foot.
It is customary to say that if it is printed on the imposition, it is the difference between positive and negative printing, self-turning, and rolling over.
Imposition and closing
We will not always do 16K, 8K and other regular prints in our work, especially the packaging box, small card (certificate), etc. are often not opened, at this time, we need to pay attention to the finished product as much as possible in the appropriate paper opening range when imposing, so as to save costs.
1. The following is an introduction to the regular imposition
Take the Dadu 16K cover as an example: (demonstration software: CD8). According to the needs of printing (such as quantity) and the limitations of printing plant equipment 8K machine, 4K machine, open machine, full sheet machine, we also have to make different adjustments according to the actual situation, generally spell 8K or 4K is enough, because in the folio and full open printing press can be used to set drying, spelling, and through self-turning or positive and negative printing to solve.
In the demonstration case, the bleeding edge was 3 mm. Spell 8K version (shoulder to shoulder), page size, bleeding edge (yellow), net size (blue)
Spell 4K version (head to head), page size, bleeding edge (yellow), net size (blue)
2. Printed matter in the form of a single page
When imposing, leave 6 mm bleeding edge in the middle (vertical midline) splicing part, that is, 3 mm bleeding on all four sides of each single page (two knives need to be cut).
Description: If you make a print without bleeding pictures, shading, or completely one-color shading, etc., you can press the method of 1 to impose, and a knife in the middle can be.
3. Imposition of the envelope
In general, when making, we are used to putting the envelope together with the "tongue", which is more paper-intensive (there is a blank space that is not used), but the pattern continuity is good.
There is also a way to return the cover to the cover, and the "tongue" is done separately, which saves paper, but has an extra "paste", that is, one more scrape (or one more double-sided tape) when the finished product is finished.
4. Packing box imposition
Generally, large packaging boxes (more than 8K) do not need to be imposed, and they can be directly handed over to the printing factory for drying.
The following is a brief introduction to the imposition of small packages.
Try to make the imposition work the most compact under the premise of closing, but the packaging box involves more post-processing processes, and the box rolling (cutting out the edge and pressing the crease line) is the most critical, at this time, it is necessary to pay attention to the spacing between the two nearest edges when imposing is not less than 3mm, otherwise it will be very troublesome when arranging the knife plate, so as to affect the product quality.
When you have completed the imposition (with the customer's signature and approval), it is best to produce a copy of the original large knife plate film to facilitate the printing house to arrange the knife.
5. Business cards
Allies who may be engaged in typing and copying business cards have the experience of making 8 business cards on a single business card paper and then cutting them out with a card cutter. In fact, it is a waste to do this, my experience is that a business card paper can make 10 business cards, without a card cutter, if the quantity is small, you can use a ruler, a knife, if the quantity is large, you can borrow the paper cutter of the printing house, it is very convenient, and very economical. If you only make one or two boxes of business cards, which happen to be colorful, and you happen to have an envelope in your hand to do, then use the blank space of the envelope.
6. Tag cards and stickers, etc
Very annoying stuff. But it's not difficult, be careful and calculate the size. There are three categories:
(1) One-size-fits-all (no bleeding), similar to a business card, the outermost edge of the whole needs to bleed;
(2) Two-size-fits-all (including bleeding)
(3) Rolling, punching, and fillet (need to row knife version, spelling is the same as 2)
(4) Mixed spelling, in the case that the number is proportional, can be mixed in the open layout.
7. The following is a recommended method of drawing corner lines that I commonly use for friends who use beginner CDs, which is very practical, and should have been sent to the vector section, but because it is very related to this post, it is posted here.
(1) Select the hand-drawn tool, press the Ctrl key, draw a straight line segment (hair) vertically in the upper left corner of the page, and change the size to 3mm;
(2) Ctrl+A (Align & Distribute), D, T, L; [Note: In CD9 and above, it is Alt+A+A (the way to open the menu), the same below]
(3) Change the X coordinate to 3, and tap the numeric keypad + sign (the far right of the keyboard) to copy a line;
(4) Change the x-coordinate to 6 and group the two line segments;
(5) Press the + button again to copy, and rotate 90 degrees;
Subtract the X and Y axis coordinates by 3 respectively, and a set of angular lines has been completed, and then press the + key to copy this group of angular lines, and then mirror them horizontally;
(7) Ctrl+A, D, R, you don't need to use T at this time, the graph moves horizontally;
Select all two sets of corner lines, press + to copy, and mirror them vertically;
(9) Ctrl+A, D, B, corner line finish.
(10) Finally, don't forget to add the CMYK color code
1. Folding. Look at the need for 8P or 16P sticker, generally speaking, 8P sticker is often used in the way of wireless glue binding, and 16P is often stitched (large album).
The P number of albums and books is generally a multiple of 4, so when we make folding samples, we often only need to make one (main sticker) to two (special stickers) is enough. I once saw an advertising company make a picture album of more than 100P, using a lot of A4 paper, and folding out all the page numbers, which is very wasteful and unnecessary.
When folding normally, remember that no matter how you fold, the bottom right corner is the first page.
Here are some common ways to fold pages:
2. Binding. Generally, it is divided into riding binding, flat binding, sewing glue binding, and wireless glue binding.
Our common magazines are bound on horseback; Wire-bound books and wire-bound books belong to flat binding; Glue binding is often used for large albums, which are firm, but the binding speed is slow; Cordless bindings are often used for high-end small albums, and books that are too thick are easy to degum after multiple folding.
