The inkjet printer is undoubtedly the most popular image output device at present, and it has the advantages of low price, low cost, simple operation, vivid effect and rich colors. But to use it well, you need to constantly explore and discover good use methods and techniques in practice. Regardless of how sophisticated a color inkjet printer is, image formation still uses a progressive mechanism. There are inherent speed limitations for the type of printing of this mobile printhead, but the following steps can be taken to improve the performance quality of inkjet printing:
1. Check the printer driver. The printer driver has a significant impact on the performance of the printer and also affects the printer's interaction with other connected parallel port devices. You should check that the inkjet printer is using the latest printer driver. In most cases, the latest drivers can be downloaded directly from the printer manufacturer's site.
2. Check the printer selection. Confirm that the printer that is actually connected to the computer is selected as the current (default) system printer. If you choose a similar product and model, you may be able to use the printer, but the driver will have subtle differences, which may reduce the performance of the printer (or disable the key features of the printer).
3. Check the LPT mode. Current printers typically use high performance parallel port modes such as ECP or EPP. Check the parallel port configuration in CMOS Setup and Device Manager to see if the option is set to the optimal communication mode (usually ECP). If the port is set to an older mode (such as compatible or bidirectional mode), the computer may not be able to communicate with the printer most quickly.
4. Check the paper selection. When specifying paper, try selecting the "plainpaper" option. Remind you that you can use special coated inkjet paper or standard 25% bonded cotton paper (such as regular photocopying paper). Avoid using narrower papers as they may slip into or feed into the printer's paper handling unit. Also avoid thick paper or deep textured paper because these papers tend to spread ink. When trying to solve the color problem, a small amount of new paper must be loaded.
5. Check the print settings. The print speed is also affected by the print feature options. Try to reduce the time intensity in color printing: Print quality: standard (non-exquisite) color mode: color (non-photo) color selection: FastColor.
6. Try disabling Windows print support. Under Windows 98, you can disable background printing. The Printer Properties dialog box appears, click the Spool Settings button in the Details tab, and enable the Direct Output to Printer option. Please note that if prompted, save your changes and restart your computer.
7. Do not print monochrome images as color mode. If you print a monochrome (or grayscale) document, verify that the printer's driver is set to Monochrome. Printing a monochrome image in color mode will use color ink and require more processing power.
