Is the winter label lifting? Wrinkles or bubbles? Attention should be paid to these!!

The processing and use of self-adhesive materials are highly sensitive to temperature changes, especially with the arrival of winter. Some label printing companies are prone to some problems when processing and using self-adhesive labels, such as die-cutting flying labels, label lifting, etc. If these problems cannot be solved in a timely manner, they will greatly affect the production efficiency of label printing enterprises and the effectiveness of end users, and in severe cases, even cause significant economic losses.
Precautions for the use of labeling
NO.1
Label frostbite causes label lifting
In winter, some end users store adhesive labels in warehouses without heating, and the temperature in the warehouse is often below zero degrees, which is almost the same as the natural environment temperature. If self-adhesive labels are stored in such low temperature environments, their adhesive fluidity will sharply decrease, resulting in a sharp decrease in viscosity. In this case, if labeling is done immediately, the label is prone to warping or even falling off after being attached to the bottle. Many label printing companies receive complaints from customers in winter about low label stickiness and warping after labeling, which is actually mainly caused by this reason.

So, how can we solve this problem? It's actually quite simple. Label printing companies need to communicate with end users in advance and encourage them to store their labels in heated warehouses as much as possible. In principle, the storage temperature for adhesive labels should not be lower than 15 ℃. If the storage conditions for end users are difficult to meet, then at least 24 hours before labeling, place the labels in a relatively warm environment and wait for the adhesive of the labels to recover before labeling.
NO.2
Label moisture loss leads to label wrinkles and bubbles
As mentioned above, the winter climate is relatively dry, and some label printing companies do not pay attention to humidifying the materials during the processing, resulting in severe moisture loss in the processed labels. When they are delivered to end users for labeling, the labels will expand due to absorbing moisture from the air, causing wrinkles and bubbles to form.
Once this problem arises, it can be quite troublesome to solve because it is not visible during labeling and often takes 24 hours or even longer for wrinkles and bubbles to appear. Some end users may even discover the problem before shipping. If the label is replaced at this point, it is already too late in time, and removing the already labeled label is also a painful process that requires a lot of manpower and time. Once such a problem occurs, it will cause serious losses to the enterprise.

So, how can we solve this problem? It's actually quite simple. Label printing companies need to communicate with end users in advance, so that they can open the plastic packaging of the labels and place them in the labeling workshop 24 hours before labeling. This allows the labels to fully exchange moisture with the environment in the labeling workshop to achieve a balanced state. This way, wrinkles and bubbles are less likely to occur after labeling. At the same time, label printing companies must perform local humidification treatment on the labels during the processing to keep them sufficiently moist. This way, after labeling, the labels will hardly absorb moisture from the environment, making them less likely to expand and produce wrinkles and bubbles.
