In color printing (four-color printing), it is difficult to obtain ideal blue, purple, and green colors because the ink is impure (mainly cyan ink). Also, the amount of ink is limited in printing. For example, if you want to print a black bottom, you may think: CMYK is printed at 100%, which is good. However, the answer is: wrong! Four 100% color plates are printed, the paper can't bear it, the ink can't dry normally, the paper will stick together, or the ink will splash out of the roller, and the result will not get the ideal black. Instead, it was a mess. In terms of experience, the total amount of four-color ink should be less than 300 unless you have close cooperation with the output and printing departments.

In terms of experience, the total amount of four-color ink should be less than 300 unless you have close cooperation with the output and printing departments. Do not believe? Well, please open Photoshop, you need a New file, convert to CMYK format, and then fill the blackest black. In short, do your best! Then, open the info display board, put the mouse on the screen and see info. CMYK shows how much to add these four percentages? 266! Far less than 300. You have to pay attention to this. Too much four colors is definitely a bad thing. well, let's get back to business. Due to the ink amount limitation, the ratio of black to other colors in color separation is improved, and the image is not easily bright. How is it good? (When the total amount of ink is limited during printing, when black is added, the ratio of the other three colors is inevitably lowered.)

The best way is of course to manage the black channel as much as possible. When converting an image to a CMYK color space, the black channel is precisely created to help better describe the detail in areas where shadows and contrasts change. Increasing the amount of detail and increasing the contrast can enhance the color saturation of the image, which will make your eyes feel that the color of the image is brighter than the actual color.

We know that image color separation with CMY tri-color inks lacks contrast and blurring, especially in tonal and dark areas. With the black channel, the image will appear sharper and the color will be more vivid. Because black enhances the appearance of the outline effect, that is, it emphasizes the picture.
