A: Spot color plate making is only a certain color plate when making plates, instead of multi-color overprinting, special color inks are used for printing or special colors are printed by ink. The spot color is generally mostly in the field density, and the mesh is less adjusted.

In the Pagemaker software spot color plate, pay attention to the submenu "Define Color" under the palette and menu "Components". Using the submenu "Fix Color" you will see that Pagemaker 6.0C divides the color into two categories: primary color and spot color; similarly, the 5.0CS version is divided into color and monochrome, and the 6.5C version corresponds to the color and the printing color.

If the printing color is no more than four colors, the default color in the four basic colors can be used instead of the spot color. On the other hand, if there are more than four colors, the spot color of the field density spot and the mesh tone that are pre-made in Photoshop are all placed in the Pagemaker file. The spot color of the solid density is black bitmap mode, which can be used in Photoshop. Change color.

Method: Select one of the primary colors (red, green, blue) from the palette, or you can define a primary color for its coloring in the pop-up dialog box of the submenu "Define Color". Of course, if the spot color is a simple line or color block that the text or Pagemaker can make, you don't have to go through Photoshop. The mesh spot color produced by Photoshop divides the spot color and the four basic colors into two Pagemaker files by using "Renamed Storage" to ensure that the pagemaker file size and image position are unchanged. The film overprint is not allowed.

The next step is to print in Pagemaker, transfer RIP, and output the film. Click on the color separation in Pagemaker's print dialog and then process it separately depending on the spot color.

    1) The printing color is not more than four colors. Because each color version is only in yellow, magenta, cyan, and black, after setting various options in the print dialog box, both primary color printing and spot color printing can be output. Separation film.

    2) Printing color is more than four colors

      A. Spot color version is a solid density file placed by Photoshop or a graphic created by Pagemaker, which can only be printed in primary colors. Because the use of spot color printing will only output four basic color versions of yellow, magenta, cyan, and black, but not each spot color version defined as the primary color; with the original color version, each color version can output film.

     B. Spot color version is a mesh file that is placed by Photoshop. Because the color substitution can not be completed in Pagemaker and output directly, the spot color will only appear on the four basic color plates of yellow, magenta, cyan, and black, and the purpose of spot color plate making cannot be achieved. You can export the two files stored in Pagemaker to the basic color version of yellow, magenta, cyan, and black, and the spot color version.
