Perhaps we pay attention to the page number of a book, pay attention to its opening, folding, and its book-writing process, but rarely think about how many sheets of paper are composed, and how its page number is arranged. When you think about it, make sure that the page number of the book is related to the print version. It is the premise of the entire process arrangement. With it, we know how to print, to print, bind, and book.
We know that a single sheet of paper is printed on one side or printed on both sides of a sheet of paper. A book consists of multiple sheets, and a sheet can print multiple page numbers according to different versions. If a print is printed with 8 page numbers, if the book content is the number of words, the length of the book is full to 64 (multiple of 8) pages, just need 8 full prints, which is the perfect condition. There are thousands of books in real life, and the page numbers are not so coincidental, that is to say, there are non-printed sheets that cannot be filled. In the above example, if the number of books is only 60 pages, how do you arrange them? Do you discard the last 4 pages and leave them blank? Under normal conditions, we rarely find double-sided blank pages in books! Therefore, we are faced with an urgent problem to solve: how to arrange blank page posts and page number settings.
If a double-sided white page appears in a book, how do you arrange it?
The following is an example of a split lithographic printing machine, 32-fold, vertical cross-folding, and a bookbinding book.
(1) If the page number of the book is exactly a multiple of 32, such as 128 pages, 256 pages... then it is easy to do, directly according to the above page number layout.
(2) If the book has 33 pages of word content, 32 pages of the entire printed sheet are removed, and the remaining film of the 33rd page is processed independently, and is attached to the large film and then exposed, and the actual process is generally only 8 open (ie 0.25 printed sheets). It did not fill 16 copies like the whole printed sheet. Then cover and expose the exposure 4 times to fill the entire split. If there is a page of 34 pages, it is the same as page 33, except that there is a word on the back, that is to say, the parity page is the same.
(3) If the book has 42 pages of word content. Remove 32 pages of the entire printed sheet and the remaining 10 yards.
10÷32=0.3125
If you fight like 33 pages, then the remaining 3 white pages (6 page numbers) are not desirable. At this time, you need to add white pages to 12 codes.
12÷32=0.375
At this time, 0.25 printed sheets, that is, 8 page numbers
0.25×32=8
0.375-0.25=0.125
0.125 sheets remaining
0.125×32=4
Print the last 4 page numbers (including a double-sided white page)
That is to say, 1 to 32 pages are on one layout, 33 to 40 pages are on another layout, 41 to 42 pages, and one white page is on the third layout. Finally, print separately, then stick the pages, sets the pages or inserts.
(4) If the book has 50 pages of text, the same as above, except for the 32-page full-print, there are 18 pages, of which 16 pages are printed with 0.5, and the whole print is printed twice, because the layout content is repeated once, one The PS version can print two copies of the signature. For the remaining 2 pages, see the analysis of page 33 in (2).
Therefore, the layout of non-printed pages is essentially a step-by-step idea. Of course, if you want to force a violation, for example, all single codes use 16 copies of the same film to fill the entire print, it will take a lot of time.
Another point to note is that in actual production, in order to ensure that there is no page slip or page drop, usually the non-printed sheet and the sheet are bound in the entire sheet, that is to say, a single sheet is not a continuous page number ( 1 to 32), but the page number of one area is left to the single code insert.
Of course, some people will say that these special page numbers can be avoided by other special folding methods, such as parallel folding and mixed folding. For example, one of the parallel folds—the wrap-around, is in the order of the page number, and the first folded paper edge is sandwiched between the sheets, which is often used for 6 pages to 10 pages. Mixed folding is a folding method with both parallel and vertical cross-folding, both turning and rolling. It is often used for 6-page, 9-page, double-folding. Admittedly, the idea is correct, but for a company, its folding process and equipment are fixed for a period of time, and no one is willing to appear in a book with special page numbers. Once it happens, the equipment is inherently unchanged. People, thoughts, and crafts are flexible, so we have to adjust the process according to the machine. It is necessary to use the page layout of the blank page signatures introduced above!
