Commercial rotary presses have a fast printing speed, and a large number of scraps and defective products will appear before normal ink color and registration are achieved. In order to improve work efficiency, qualified prints appear as early as possible to reduce unnecessary waste such as ink and paper. Pre-press production should use plate scanning to control the color difference between printed matter and design to a minimum.
Plate scanning can achieve 80% of the normal ink quantity required for printing. By adjusting the overall ink characteristic curve, it can quickly produce genuine products, greatly improving work efficiency, especially for those printing jobs without proofing. . Plate scanning work is more effective for short-cut printing with proofing. It greatly shortens the time for commercial rotary machines to produce normal ink color, saves a lot of raw materials such as paper and ink, and reduces costs for enterprises.
If you encounter a situation where the scanned curve is very different from the normal ink curve of the printed product during printing, the following aspects should generally be checked before printing:
First, see if the width of the long red film on the edge of the film is correct. The width of the red film of different models is different. For example, the Heidelberg M-600 has a circumference of 598 mm and the red film width is 23 mm, while the M-600 circumference is 578 mm. The roller requirement is 23.1mm, and the larger the difference between the actual required width, the greater the influence of the scanning result. Therefore, in actual operation, the solid block of a suitable width is exposed through the red film in combination with the model used.
Secondly, it is necessary to check whether the smoothness of the plate used is ideal. Sometimes the plate is sunken, the surface is uneven, and the scanning result is also affected. The flatness of the domestically produced printing plate is slightly inferior to that of the imported foreign version. Reduce the effects of plate irregularities by adjusting the platen's inspiratory volume. Generally, when the imported plate is scanned, the inhalation level is selected to be one level, and when scanning the domestic plate, the second or third level inspiratory amount can be selected, and the surface of the printing plate can be flexibly adopted according to the flat condition. After increasing the inspiratory volume, the printing plate is more evenly adsorbed on the scanning panel, which is beneficial to correctly reflect the ink demand of the graphic part on the printing plate. However, blindly increasing the amount of inhalation may also absorb a large amount of dust, and the suction hole is blocked for a long time, which affects the scanning quality.
In short, in prepress production, we should gradually realize that prepress production can be adapted to commercial rotary printing, and commercial rotary printing cannot be used to adapt to prepress production.
