German researchers have recently developed the world's first "printable" battery, which is as thin as paper and can be produced using screen printing technology.
According to a report by Dexin News Agency on the 3rd, the "thin paper" batteries developed by Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nanosystems in Germany each weigh less than 1 gram and have a thickness of less than 1 mm. Therefore, it is possible to embed greeting cards in practical applications. Used in small carriers with small charge.
According to reports, in addition to the slimness, this battery has the advantages of lower manufacturing cost, no mercury, and no pollution to the environment compared with the conventional battery. The battery has a voltage of 1.5 volts and can be connected in series to obtain a higher voltage.
The researchers said that they have successfully implemented the printing of such batteries in the laboratory using screen printing technology, and it is expected to achieve mass production by the end of this year.
