The prepress process is the prepress process that includes all production processes prior to the formal machine printing, ie, the process before the information is transferred to paper or other substrates. It is roughly divided into four processes: original, plate making, output film, and proofing.
If you can complete the work steps of a traditional prepress process on a personal computer, then this constitutes desktop publishing, which is digital prepress processing. This is different from the traditional prepress plate making process. In the digital prepress process, there are the following basic steps:
(1) The author enters the text into the computer and then delivers the electronic file to the editor. After editing, the article is sent to the layout designer layout through electronic media. The artist directly creates various graphics on the computer, and can also scan the original provided by the customer into the computer using a flat or drum scanner and then also electronically. The document is sent to the layout designer.
(2) Designers can use professional software such as PS or CorelDraw to make graphic and text processing. In this process, texts can be edited and edited, and the position and shape of pictures can also be adjusted. (3) Make a good document Before exporting the film, check the following: 1. Whether the document size, page definition is correct, and whether there is enough bleeding. (Bleeding position is generally 3-5mm) 2. Whether the printing and overprinting (overprinting) is correct and what it means. Coreldraw called printing, Pingguo machine called overprinting. Two spot color overprinting (leakage) --- not printing, such as adding fertilizer to add outlines to be printed. 3. Whether the picture and text are correctly filled, whether there is RGB (if there is a color, there will be several colors together are generally used c.y.m.k) or other incorrect colors. 4. Whether the conversion format (common Tif, Eps) and resolution (usually 175 lines with 300 --- 350) of the file between different application software is correct. 5. Whether the file has a corner line (registered crosshairs). 6. Can the difference between printing four-color and spot colors, and the significance of spot colors. 7. Whether the filling of fine text and lines meets the printing requirements. (Generally, less than 3 colors are required.) 8. There is a graphic file to connect the graphic file. Whether the location is correct and the format of printing and saving is correct.
(4) After the result of the group version is satisfied, the electronic file can be sent to the output center, and the high-resolution film can be output by the camera.
(5) The last step is proofing. Proofing can be roughly divided into three methods: proofer proofing, (toner) proofing, and digital proofing. The purpose is to check whether the tonality of the original and the reproducibility of the color have met the requirements; whether the layout size, the arrangement of images, words, rules lines, etc., are correct, whether there are omissions, etc., and if there is something wrong, it is necessary to make corrections. Provides proofs or basic printing parameters for formal printing, such as ink and dot reproduction, so that the printing can be standardized and standardized, providing customers with the final print samples.
