Highlights and Bevels (Extrude & Bevel)
Highlights and Bevels: A simple rectangular rotation. You can use the 3D Extrude & Bevel Options dialog (lower right corner) to control how objects operated by the operation are displayed. Add the last stroke to the 3D artwork and apply the template to the surface through the Map Art dialog (upper right corner).
The highlight and bevel features allow an object to expand its space backwards, resulting in a 3D visual effect that approximates stereo and stereoscopic effects.
First draw a shape or text object with any drawing tool. After selecting the object, choose Effect>3D>Extrude & Bevel. Check the Preview checkbox and adjust the position, perspective, and depth of the 3D object. To make a crystal effect on a graphic, select the Bevel style and specify the height. If you click the More Options button, you can also achieve highlighting and darkening control, click the Map Art button to artistically modify the 3D graphics.
If you want to map an Illustrator CS object or import an image to a surface 3D graphic, you must first add the image you want to import or map to the Symbols symbol library. If the linked image is used as a specimen, the image must be embedded in the document before it can be placed in the specimen library. The specific step is to first make the Link check box existing in the Pace dialog box unselected. In the pop-up menu of the Link panel after importing the image, import the image into Illustrator CS or select Embed (embedded) image. You're done.
Revolve
Using an oven and a gorgeous cake bag doesn't make a fancy cake, but you can do it with the new Revolve features of Illustrator CS.
The tilt feature creates a 3D graphic by rotating the graphic on one axis, such as creating a cylindrical item such as a can or bottle.
First use any drawing tool to draw a half-edge graphic, select the graphic to rotate, and choose Effect>3D>Revolve. Click the Preview checkbox to specify the location. Click Map Art to assign a specimen to the surface.
Rotate
Use a monotonous rectangular text layout to make it look like a distant fade through the Rotate feature.
The skew feature allows a 2D object to be raised to achieve a 3D visual effect, such as the faded text of the Star Wars style. To use the skew feature, first select the object you want to change, then choose Effect>3D> Rotate. Use this controller to create the visual effects you expect.
