A customer uses Kodak's latest four-generation CTP equipment, the Trendsetter 800AL platesetter, to make plates, which have the ability to automatically load and unload plates. During the plate making process, the customer found that the dots in the middle of the printing plate appeared faint. What puzzles the customer is that if the automatic unloading function of the plate making equipment is not used in the plate making process, but the manual unloading is used, the phenomenon that the surface of the printing plate is faint will disappear. To this end, the customer took the problematic plate under the magnifying glass and observed it. As a result, there was no trace of scratches or scratches caused by the plate-making equipment rubbing against the plate. Therefore, it was impossible to accurately judge the phenomenon of the dot-dark phenomenon. The software part of the plate-making device is also caused by the hardware part.


We believe that in the case of processing files and operating methods are the same, if the outlets are only due to different uninstallation methods, it should be independent of the software part and data processing process of the plate making equipment. Because of the logic of the design, it is impossible to affect the change of the surface of the printing plate due to the difference in the way the software controls the unloading. Therefore, the author first thought that a certain hardware part of the plate making equipment had an influence on the printing plate, which led to the virtual surface of the printing plate.


Considering that the dot fading phenomenon only occurs in the middle of the printing plate, the Wrist of the plate-making device Picker system will touch this part of the printing plate. The author guesses that the problem should appear on this, and further understand that the customer has replaced the new plate. Considering the different pressure resistance of different plates, it may be due to the fragile film surface of the plate, or the default contact pressure is too large to cause the dot to be imaginary. Therefore, when I tried to adjust and improve the Wrist of the Picker system, the phenomenon of the dot in the middle of the plate that was turned on again was eliminated.
