As a new type of printing method, electronic printing is not perfect for its research. There are some misunderstandings about some of its understanding. Some people think that it can be used for electronic printing with thermosetting ink. Is this the case? After the analysis below, the problem is clear at a glance.

Thermosetting ink

The imaging principle of thermosetting inks. The thermosetting ink can be wrapped around the fibers of the substrate (such as cloth), physically reacted with the fiber, fixed to it, and will not fade for a long time. Thermosetting inks do not contain any adhesives, so how does it combine with substrates (for example, textile fabrics)?

It is "temperature". The main components of thermosetting inks are PVC resins and plasticizers, which are paste solids at room temperature. When the temperature rises to about 150 ° C, the thermosetting ink that gradually melts into a thick liquid begins to slowly penetrate downward into the gap of the substrate. When it returns to normal temperature, the thick liquid thermosetting ink will solidify into a solid solid instead of the original paste solid. The solidified solid chemical composition is firmly integrated with the surface of the substrate it is immersed to form. The printing effect.

The characteristics of thermosetting inks. A significant advantage is that it does not block the net, making printing fine patterns very easy. It has been widely used in the printing industry; thermosetting inks must be dried at high temperatures; thermosetting ink printing does not need to clean the screen, even after the tenth day and ten months later The printing can continue the next day, mainly because the general ink is sticky (so it will stick in the case of dryness) and self-curing (of course, it will block the net), while the thermosetting ink is not; the thermosetting ink is difficult. Printed on non-porous and seamless substrates, such as metal, glass, etc.

Electronic printing

The principle of electronic printing imaging. Electronic printing is to energize the screen. When the toner passes through the opening portion of the screen, the electron charge is applied, and the pattern is preheated or solvent vapor is applied. Under the action of high voltage, the toner is heated by the action of static electricity. The solid pattern is fixed on the substrate to form the same pattern as the screen.

The characteristics of electronic printing. The printing plate does not need to be in contact with the substrate, and can be printed on the surface of any uneven, fragile, high-temperature object; the toner particles are small, can be fixed and dried on the surface of the object instantaneously, so no drying device is needed; color toner can be used for multicolor print.

DC voltage power supplies require high-voltage resistant electronic components. Electronic printing devices require automatic positioning components. The entire set of equipment is relatively expensive (about 5 million yuan).

Thermoset inks cannot be used for electronic printing

It is not difficult to see from the above basic knowledge that the imaging principle of ink used in electronic printing is similar to that of thermosetting inks, and because of this, some people produce thermosetting inks that can be used for misunderstanding of electronic printing. But the truth is: no.

Thermosetting inks can only be printed on substrates with holes and gaps, while electronic printing can be printed on any substrate, which is the magic of electronic printing.

Both thermoset inks and electronic printing present images on a substrate by means of a thermoset. However, the former is a solid ink object, and the latter is a solid ink.

The thermosetting ink needs to be specially dried, and the toner used for electronic printing does not require a drying device.

When the thermosetting ink is heated by electricity, when the temperature rises to about 150 °C, it can also achieve the following transformation.

However, the process of transferring the thermosetting ink from the paste to the liquid and then to the substrate must be carried out well in contact with the printing plate and the substrate, and the electronic printing requires the printing plate to be in contact with the substrate, in this case, After heating, the liquid thermosetting ink can only flow or drip onto the substrate. Such an imaging effect obviously has no effect of imaging the toner through electrostatic action, and the charge action can make the curved surface or the side surface respectively, without affecting the image. The continuity of the thermosetting ink clearly does not achieve this effect.

Electronic printing is a new type of printing that can be carried out on the surface of any object. It is also the trend of printing development in the future. Especially in the current situation of rapid development of the network, there will be a lot of room for development.
