First, the design of digital printing
The biggest advantage of digital printing is its handling of the original, which maximizes the use of the original. Color digital printing can achieve offset printing quality when copying originals. If digital printing can't handle the original, start with a high-quality original and scan it with the right pixels, and use a high-quality scanner, often at 300ppi. Satisfactory results can be obtained. Since it is not offset, you should also pay attention to its bright and dark parts.
Second, carefully select the printing materials - paper
Digital printing is not like offset printing, it usually cannot use the same type of paper. The Indigo E-printer requires pre-processing of the paper. Xeikon-based presses use webs, not all of which have a roll. It is important to remember that this paper must be able to hold a negative charge, and a smooth, extremely expensive white paper is the best choice for digital printing. Since the polish is not adhered or wiped off continuously, the recycled material can be prevented from being damaged, and the humidity can also destroy the color reproduction. Also, remember to ensure that enough paper is in the factory for at least 24 hours before the job is run.
Third, positioning registration
We always know the design and positioning unit, pay attention to the automatic duplex feature of the special machine, and test the duplex project to ensure acceptable results. The Xeikon press simultaneously prints both sides for good front-to-back positioning. If bleeding is found, you will need to use a larger size.
Fourth, pay attention to remove the stain (defect)
Digital printing cannot print dot colors (except for the 6-color version of the indigo). Using the PATONE TM Spot-to-CMYK chart to find the equivalent of CMYK, you can create a reasonable replacement for many PANTONE TM colors. Very thick polish (toner) overlays often exhibit a luminescence that looks like a metallic ink.
Fifth, Observing the field and overprinting
On a color-copy-based device, large-area field printing is the most common problem. They may be due to changes in the charge on the surface of the paper and the charge itself. To some extent, the static charge on the surface of the sheet has also changed, resulting in streaks and uneven colors on the solid block, which is not the problem with the updated system. Generate noise in the field by using Photoshop or other software. This problem is rarely seen with new presses compared to older presses. On the other hand, if you want to get a large area of black, use a yellow, black, blue, and blue ink to make a thick black ink in different proportions. It is recommended to work with your supplier to find and find the best ink ratio. Try to color at 60C, 40M, 40Y, 100K or 40C, 20M, 20Y, 100K, using all four colors, not just C ink for offset printing.
Digital printing can be operated at 400 to 600 dots/in, mimicking the tonal dots by creating a grid. Since the mesh starts from a few dots of the original, the mesh is limited in size by the selected tone line and the amount of dots available. A smooth transition in the entire tone and blending color is difficult if only a limited amount of shadow is available, and adding noise (in Photoshop) allows for some less noticeable changes in the digital printing device. Observe the overprint color from dark to light.
Sixth, observe the monitor (monitor)
The color gamut of the image displayed on the display is wider than that of digital printing, and proofing equipment, such as inkjet proofing, has a high resolution, and Epson inkjet proofing can be sampled at 720 dpi or 1440 dpi. It is best to proof on the machine, use it as a copying production, and make color blocks for printing presses or proofing to correct colors. Of course, advanced, advanced color management systems are also a good solution. Currently, some vendors have been able to provide an advanced color management system.
Seventh, choose the right software
Quark Xpress, Adobe, Indesign Photo shop, FreeHand, and Illustrater software, the color is slightly different between the various software, if the same color in Illustrater FrerH and and Photoshop to generate images, then import them into Pagemaker or Ouark Xpress In the process of transforming all the artwork into the CMYK color space, the colors of the three elements will not be simply matched, and if necessary, the color will be adjusted to the color balance. Avoid using text processing and RGB graphics like Microsoft Pow erpoint, which tends to work only in the RGB color space. RIP will instantly convert the RGB colors and may not give you the color you want.
Eighth, collecting products
To ensure that all fonts and connected graphics files are included (and don't embed graphics by cutting and pasting), saving the file in the appropriate format, digital printing companies prefer to use the page description type 1 font. You can provide the file to the service provider in Adobe PDF format.
Ninth, immediately after processing
Digital printing press products can cause problems during the binding stage, which may cause problems such as paper curling or paper grain roughness. A polish, unlike an ink, appears on the surface of the paper and cannot be absorbed. When folded, the polish is easy to break at the crease, so avoid the crease print design, or use high light tone in the crease area or at least detect the paper grain size to reduce the degree of cracking, if the print is a book, When printing on sheetfed, registration positioning is a problem, and the graphic part cannot exceed the signature. Special care or careful consideration should be taken to avoid over-textion of the graphic part and avoid over-tight registration positioning, allowing up to 1/8in variation range. If it is thick paper, it is necessary to ensure the graphics and creases, in the paper post, instead of crossing the post code, in order to reduce the cracking of the paper and the polish, the better performing press can handle these common potential failures. . If your product requirements are very fine, be sure to carefully select the digital press and carefully test the product prints (samples) printed on the digital press.
Tenth, learn more about product equipment
In most cases, you can't design a variable print job and give it to any service provider. You should be aware of what the device can and cannot do. Then design the job according to its various limitations.
